Kindezi at Gideons Elementary School is an exceptional institution all the way around. I am especially intrigued and find Gideons exceptional because it is an APS Partner school, meaning it operates with the uniqueness and specialties of a charter school, however, has district support and maintains the necessary compliance and structure you get from a traditional school. The technology is advanced and always evolving to fit the current trends and needs of our students. The leadership and staff here really care about the students and are always willing to go the extra mile to be fully immersed and supportive in students’ educational journey and experience while attending.

This school is a welcoming place where students are learning and making growth. The overall scores don’t look great but when you look at growth and student progress you can see they are teaching and learning here! My child has had a good experience so far. They could improve on communication and consistency between teachers but overall the school is growing in the right direction.

As a school community we were heavily affected by the pandemic but are making great strides in recovering. Our school's leadership and staff are loving, caring, and dedicated to ensuring our geniuses receive the education, tools, support, information, and emotional support they need to thrive.

There have been many changes to the school over the last few years, including completely new leadership. There has been a very high teacher turnover rate, which has caused both of my kids to go through multiple teachers every year. The turnover of teachers has meant little to no communication home to the parents about how children are doing in class. When we escalated these concerns, I received phone calls from admin with no follow-through. The school is going for STEM certification starting the 2024-2025 school year; however, they are discussing cutting the gifted program, and still after many years of promises, they have not added music as a special for the kids. We chose to pull our kids because it only seems to be getting worse.

As a parent of two students who went partially last year, all I can say is stay away!!! Don’t get me wrong the fluff and “Genius” this and “Genius”that, massages the ego but beneath the surface there are major problems. The test scores are horrible as you can see. No report cards. “Charter” classes like entrepreneur but majority of the kids can’t even count or add in the 4th and 5th grades. They even used my daughter’s adoption as a way to promote their “new learning” tactics on national tv. My Wife and I immediately regretted doing it to this day. It was so bad I chose to take my daughters out who couldn’t write, read,or do math beyond a 1st grade level just like most of their peers. I quit my job and homeschooled them and we worked harder than we had in our lives. I was able to get my special education 4th grader on 5th grade level and my first grader actually discovered she may be a genius.lol.. They were motivated by the history of Blacks and an obligation to take advantage of the educational system their ancestors fought for. So imagine the defeat they felt when they were told by below average Kindezi Gideon that they would have to repeat the 4th and 1st grades. My daughter cried and told me she just wanted to prove herself. Imagine being a Father who worked her endlessly threw her learning disabilities and overcoming years of feeling inferior to be told by the same institution who praised her on national tv but failing miserably, now saying she would have to repeat a grade simply because she wasn’t homeschooled at an accredited school. The audacity of a school with a 99% rate of under preforming students to actually act like this. As a home owner paying a large part of my $5000 property tax to a institution that is failing our kids makes me sad and uneasy. So I suggest all parents to take your kids and run!! Run to your School Board Meeting,City Counsel Meeting, etc and force these schools to help educate on Black Boys and Girls who barely can read and write. Instead of playing jazz on the first day how about using that money for Saturday family reading and math classes?

The team at Gideons truly makes you feel a part of the Wolf Pack. The teachers are loving, kind, and they communicate with families. Academically, students (or Geniuses as they are referred to), grow and develop in all content areas. Geniuses participate in hands-on learning, and engaging activities, and include writing in core content areas. If you are looking a home for your Genius- come to the Wolf Pack!

My son is currently in Pre-K and so far I have been very impressed with the teachers, especially when I can take a peek at what's happening when my son has virtual classes. They do a great job keeping the kids engaged and create a positive, encouraging atmosphere. Since the Pre-K program is run by APS, it does not have as small of a class size as the rest of the school, but the teachers are still able to personalize students' course work based on the students' ability. The teachers and staff do a great job keeping an open line of communication with the parents. Overall, I am very happy with my son's experience and plan on sending him there for Kindergarten.

This year, my youngest child attended Kindezi Gideons for pre-k, and we are absolutely IN LOVE with this school!! He was counting to 100, reading books, and writing his name before the end of the second quarter! The school has so much POSITIVE ENERGY and engaging activities - my son loves his classmates and teachers! Oh, and did I mention FREE AFTERCARE, FREE MEALS, and a focus on values such as collective responsibility, excellence, and love/compassion?? I love everything about this place! My baby is socially and emotionally NURTURED, he is academically CHALLENGED, and his teachers teach him and his classmates to be KIND and CONSIDERATE. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with my Kindezi experience!

I guess you would say this is our sons 2nd year at Kindezi at Gideons. The first year was online and that was over all a great experience! We love the small classroom of around 12 to 16 kids so far with 2 teachers. All of his teachers have been amazing! The staff is also wonderful and the app with weekly parent communication is very helpful. We recommend the school to all our neighbors!
