It was so sad to watch all of the adults and leaders involved in running Athol High School focus more on the removal of their schools mascot and even the moniker more than their students, grades and education.

Nice building, the leadership does not take responsiblity for the issues. They claim to be working on improvement but I see no action. I do believe that they just show up for their paycheck. I am disgusted in the number of issues I have had to go to the Principal or Vice Principal about. My student joined the school as a high performing student from a much better school and is now barely performing...because he gets away with it and it is the norm. The school needs to be gutted of management, reevaluate all other positions and replace as needed.

I would rate my experience at this school as a scar inducing nightmare. The emotional toll that it had on me was devastating as a teenager, and was an experience that I'll never be able to forget.

New Principal Mitch Aho is turning things around in a positive direction. I have 2 children attending Athol High School.

Great school teachers are willing to work with students and they have great sports teams

Horrible school leadership. I feel that they hire the most unqualified candidates to run this school. Students are treated horribly without respect and any consideration. Do not send your children here if you actually want them to get a good and fair education. Moved here from Boston 10 years ago (moved my practice here) and feel an education in North Korea would be better. School almost lost their accreditation and I can see why.
