Athens Community school as we are now called is a wonderful school for students to learn and grow. The teacher to student ratio is one of the best around and the community involvement is outstanding. As the previous poster stated we are now a first year school district, for we withdrew from the SAD we were with so we could secure the future of this school to continue to be a Pre-K through 8th grade structure for years to come.

Our school (changed it from my to our because it isn't my school it is our community's school) is a great place for any child to grow, learn, and have fun. With the opportunity to go from grade Pre-K to 8th in the same building, its a great chance for students to learn from older students and to learn to be role models as they become the older students. What better way to grow character in a student than to have them have the opportunity to do that? A small school also allows them to get any and all help and aid that they may need as class size stays small and teacher help is always there. Cannot say enough about our teaching staff...always there, cheerful and ready and willing to help any student or parent. Love this school!

Athens Elementary School - Athens, Maine This school is a great school where kids come first. They take a great of pride in making sure all kids needs are met and that they are able to learn. The community school is one where your child can receive a great education and have the opportunity to learn and grow with support, guidance and excellent educational instruction.

Athens Community School is now on it's own. We pulled from our RSU as of July 1, 2013. We are a small community with Fantastic families and Teachers. Our staff is dedicated to the education and welfare of our students. We have a low student to teacher ratio, which means there is plenty of one to one. Athens Community School is a fun and energetic place to raise children with wonderful memories.

I have always been impressed with the academic integrity at the Athens Elementary School, now the Athens Community School. The teachers definitely have the students first and foremost on their minds.

All 3 of my children went to Athens Elementary School and received the best education: one on one help when needed, varied curriculum, educational field trips, community involvement, emphasis on math and science through the Beacon Grant which has continued yearly, sports available to every student, academic achievement awards and teachers that supported the students, parents and community. I have always liked the fact that Athens has a staff that is willing to work with parents to better their child's education as well as the social aspects of school.

Athens is a strong community and has very devoted parents. We have incredible teachers who care about our children's education and welfare.....We as a community voted to leave our current district and become an independent school (Athens Community School). In the long run this will benefit our student, but this 1st year we will have ups & downs. Please look at our school to donate the $5,000 it will help in many areas.
