Both of our kids attended Northstar. One is now a junior majoring in chemistry at Texas A&M and the other is a freshman majoring in environmental science at University of Arkansas. Both had incredible experiences at Northstar including participating in multiple sports, traveling internationally, and learning via a wide variety of creative methodologies. They developed lifelong friendships with other students as well as with the administrators and faculty. As parents, we could not be happier with our decision to have our kids attend Northstar. The academics are top notch but we feel what they learned about life, leadership, perspective, and themselves is the true "gift" of Northstar.

Northstar is something truly special in the world of education. Choosing a school can be overwhelming but each and every day I know I made the right decision for our family. Northstar provides an environment that is inclusive, immersive, intentional and so applicable to the real world. It seems impossible to have all the opportunities they're able to provide under one roof. My daughter genuinely enjoys each school day and can't wait to tell me all the exciting things that happened. I can't say enough about the instructors and everyone on staff there. I've been blown away by their kindness and heart to see each child grow in their gifts and independence while pushing the boundaries of what they can accomplish academically. I know they're setting all the students up for such success in life. What more could you ask for as a parent? It's a family that we're so fortunate to be a part of.

Northstar is one of the smallest private school gems in the area that starts at 7th grade and goes through 12th grade. I have had 3 kids go to this school since 2017. The vast majority of the teachers are highly qualified and have advanced degrees which is hard to find in a private school. The academics area is where they excel and can be challenging. However, students will be placed at their academic level that may be above or below their grade level with no issue at all. They offer dual credit to a limited degree. They offer a plethora of extracurricular activities and many field trips. They have prom, host dances and offer a winter and spring musical performance. All students are required to learn a musical instrument. Any behavioral or academic issues with a student are addressed promptly through parent-staff meetings. Bullying is not tolerated and will be addressed. They give student chances, but are not afraid to expel a student for very poor behavior and have done so. They have an independent college advisor that comes in to assist and guide juniors and seniors with the college and financial aid application process. They recently hired a counselor that visits the campus and meets with students on an as needed basis at no additional fee. There is required student and parent volunteering. Juniors are required to participate in a language immersion program for a month and are encouraged to travel to another country for the full experience, but are not required to travel. They offer international travel every other year for a fee to their staff, students, and their families. Northstar, with their highly qualified staff and activities galore, charges a hefty tuition to which you must commit for the academic school year. It's a hard bullet to bite, but well worth it to give your child an opportunity to thrive. The school is in an older home that has been converted into a school, so it is not fancy, but they welcome contributions to their programs and offered improvements to their grounds. They make improvements every year. It lacks a gym, but they bus students to the local YMCA during the week for their physical education. In lieu of P.E., they also offer and cater to student's interests of other sports as well. Drop-off and pick-up is in a tight area. Parking is limited when they have school functions. There is no nurse on staff. When your child graduates, they are WELL honored in full regalia, a lot of pomp and circumstance, ceremony and dinner.

Northstar is a very challenging school academically, but the teachers provide support and encouragement along the way. Class size and school size are just right for bonding with and creating close attachments to classmates.

Northstar school is just what my children need to prepare for college. Small class sizes mean more one on one time with teacher to answer all questions student has. Loving, nurturing environment to help students make good choices to prepare them for what lies ahead of them in the future.

They offer a great variety of classes as well as extra curricular activities. The instructors are top notch and the students treat each other with respect. I love the way the students are challenged and are able to participate in the Science Olympiad. I strongly support this school and would recommend it to anyone.

We came to Northstar in the fall of 2012. I remember our touring the school in the summer prior and there was a 10th grader at the school telling us he was counting the days until school started. My son and I both thought that was a little "wierd." However when school started it was obvious to us why he felt that way. Northstar is the most incredible school in Arlington! The academics are off the charts, but that's just the beginning. We loved it all from the true spirit of family to hosting German students and learning their culture. We loved that the whole school does everything together! The show choir was incredible, the one act play was amazing, the music, the arts, the drama performances, to the culinary arts. The students were so connected, and the teacher's were willing to do whatever it took to make every single student successful. We loved the golf lessons, the volleyball, the track and equestrian. Oh but the science Olympiad was great going to state at A&M, the blasting off of rockets at Fredericksburg was so cool too. The coursework was hard! The celebrations were a blast! Oh and guess what? My son is counting the days until school starts!
