The school overall is nice. The teachers are good and many other staff are too. The only problem is the actions of the students that go to Blanton. The school pretty diverse and is home to many Hispanic children. My biggest problem is these children discriminate other races and make jokes about them which aren’t even funny and the school has done nothing about it. It has happened in front of staff but they don’t do anything about it. The people who do this type of discrimination is mostly the higher grades. Some are overall racist towards other races and are very ignorant. The students are practically bullying other student because they aren’t Hispanic or because of their race.

This is a good school. Cafeteria laties are really nice. Teachers are great. I admit that I was dumb but thanks to my teachers I am now intelligencent. I know get 80 and above compared to 55 and below. Some people say that the teachers are bad but actually is the students who is not putting attention. I miss this School. Know I am in 7th grade.

HORRIBLE! If you care about your child's education and attempt to stay involved in his/her learning... ... DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

I'll start by saying this, if you have 15 out of 20 children being held back or sent to summer school in ONE second grade class, the problem is the teaching not the student. I have worked hard all year trying to help my daughter understand her math, and helped her with reading. I had a conference with the assistant principal who said that failing wasn't an option and that summer school wasn't anything we had to worry about. Now it's the end of the year and I'm being told my child along with 14 others didn't make it to 3rd grade!! This school has failed my child. I also talked to the assistant principal about a teacher who constantly got in my childs face, embarrassed her, told her she was just going to stay in second grade with her forever, told her she was lazy, and that she acts just like her brother (who she doesn't even know) and always wants people to do her work for her. My other issue is with the cafeteria staff they treat all of the kids like they are in jail and not in school, the way they talk to the kids is inappropriate. And my last complaint is if a parent signs a report card or progress report asking for a conference CALL THEM BACK AND SCHEDULE ONE!

I would like to take a second to say that Blanton is a great school, but they do have some things that they could do a little bit better. One of those would be for the teachers to communicate with the parents more. If a parent emails you regarding a child please email them back! Another thing is the front office needs to be a little more cautious and pay more attention to who is picking the child up from school. I understand there is construction and things are hectic, but I think every person wanting to withdraw a student should show ID and the pick up list should be checked. Even if someone has come to eat with the child doesn't mean they can leave with them. Other then those issues that I had this year the school is a pretty good school and I will continue to send my kids there.
