Putting my kids to this school was the biggest mistake I ever made. Compared to Somerville schools, this one is a year behind, academically. After Somerville coming to Hardy, my kids were bored out of their minds, especially at math. Math is ridiculously behind, at least 2-3 years, and not being taught as a hard science, but rather as sort of a literature: "please explain this". Observing my kids being bored, teachers did not react in a supportive way. One of the teachers started blaming my child that he was not explaining well. My kid was annoyed that he had to explain such an elementary math where he was so much ahead! All in all, this was a waste of life; kids didn't get any useful education out of Hardy. It is a glorified daycare.

This has been a wonderful school for our kids and family. Teachers and staff are excellent. Afterschool program top notch. Great community of families attend this neighborhood school.

.A great school if both the child and the parent apply themselves. The teachers are excellent overall with a few that stand out only for lack of excellence. The principal is not always professional and this concerns me but my children respect her. The after school program is extremely effective as it instills love of learning and exercise into children who have already spent the day in a classroom. In fact, most of what my children feel that they have learned they learned in the after school program (but of course they don't count the basic reading and math as learning!)

Hardy is a great neighborhood school and has a wonderful feeling of community. The parents are involved and I love all the events the PTO runs...thank you! The teachers have been great, my kids have liked/loved every one and they have been very accessible whenever I have needed to ask a question. Great school, we love it!

Great community, short walk to subway station after dropping off kids at school. The drawback is a classroom size. it can be up to 27 kids (with one teacher.) when the school of nearby town has kids around 20, Hardy tends to have around 24 kids per class. Not all the teachers can successfully manage a big classroom.

Great elementary school in a wonderful little community. Kids at Hardy are taught not only the main subjects but also instilled with the lessons of good character and positive behavior. The teachers so far have been great and many of the children seem to have very well educated, involved parents. Most of the kids walk to school with their parents and its been fun to meet and make friends with our child's friend's parents.

Good school. Many children of visiting scholars and researchers attend. Well-run with very few apparent problems. "No mean kids" is a comment I've heard from students.
