One of the best schools in Darke County. If we had to do it all over again, we would send our kids there again. Neither my husband nor I are from this area and we genuinely feel apart of this community.

Great school, great staff, great students. Though there is improvements to be made, such as more classes for high school, but work is being done to get this to happen. There are other small problems, but they are also present in current schools. As a student there, I can say almost none of what's been said before in these reviews is true. Though there is some teachers you like and others you don't, you still get a great education and that's what matters. C.O.

Pre "new" school- I had nothing but nice things to say about the school, it's staff, the students, the parents. Curriculum was great, everyone seemed friendly and eager to help. It truly felt like home. If there was a problem with your child, you received a phone call to address it in a timely manner And all was well. POST "NEW" SCHOOL- NONE of the staff is willing to work with you or your child. The caring atmosphere has been replaced with condescending arrogance of the new younger staff. The older staff act like robots and are just buying their time until retirement. As other reviewers stated, family has a shoe-in and favoritism is shown with those students and staff who have the right "name". Example: one of the students crashed into a utility pole and did extensive damage to his car. He was acting foolish in the parking lot. The pole had to be replaced. There were no police reports made and the school covered it up because his mom Is a staff member. NICE!

The WORST. As said in other reviews, this school favors the students who have parents on the school board, or who have parents that are teaching. The ex-superintendent, got a teaching job for his daughter, and she got a teaching job for her son. The students do not learn what is needed to further their lives in a career.

This used to be such a great school. However, many of the teachers that made it such a good school have retired. They're bringing new teachers right out of college and many of them seem to have no idea what they're doing. Your child's grades might seem great but in reality they're learning nothing. This school is no longer an excellent school. When my daughter was going into elementary we decided to open enroll her. I don't believe it is worth it. And they're making major budget cuts and are cutting the elementary gifted program altogether. If you are considering sending your child here for high school or junior high, I would definitely consider another school. Also, many of the teachers are former graduates of Franklin Monroe, or have family that goes to Franklin Monroe. So there is a lot of favoritism, especially in the high school. Most of my daughters friends' parents work at the school or are related to the superintendent or principal. It's ridiculous. The sports are also going downhill. Most of the starters only play because they have a "name." Definitely not a good school to consider sending your children to.
