To large of classes and lack of communication with parents. Along with a office that is unorganized and double charge. If you make payment do in the form of check or money order.

I have two children at ABS (2nd and 4th grade) who both started the school in 1st grade. English is spoken in our home. I am very happy with the experiences my children have received from their teachers and peers. Everyone, from administration to the bilingual teachers and staff and even the ABS board, has been supportive to the needs of learning and maintaining both languages. I especially like the fact that the school has a strong balance of native English and Spanish speakers to encourage a natural approach for students learning language from each other. Although research shows that students will continue to build their native language (English/Spanish) while learning another language, I was apprehensive at first, but after a few years I began to see that it is true, my children continued to excel in English as well as Spanish. In fact, they are either at grade level or above in all academic areas. They have made friends and bridging cultures which doesn't always happen in traditional school settings. Your family has to be committed in order to reap the rewards because bringing up bilingual children is an asset that can only enhance their future. ABS is where you can start.

My Granddaughter attends Columbus Elementary. She loves going to school. Her Teachers are very helpful. The classes are not very big which allows the students more individual time and instruction. The after school programs are very creative and very well supervised. Thank you for all the special things you do to make learning fun!
