All of the new administrators treat pupils with a great deal of disdain and are poor role models. The step program, a new regulation that they have devised, is an absurd program that only causes problems for the students. I wouldn't advise any parents to send their kids there because the staff and administration are solely interested in "improving school ratings".

All the new admins are very disrespectful towards students and are not good role models. One of the newest front office ladies rolled her eyes at a student that was respectful while she was being extremely ignorant and disrespectful. I would not recommend any parents to let their children attend, staff and admin are only looking to "improve school ratings" rather than teaching students proper ways to learn.

The district is killing the school and the vice principle does not do her job .

It’s a week and a half in and we are looking for other options. Is that clear enough?

I love the fact it has EVIT program to teach children possible career opportunities, there are classes that DO discipline the children, teaches respect, control, etc. The staff for most part is very helpful, courteous, & professional

Apache Junction High School is a pretty small school. We don't have much money or many kids in our school district. But, our school is just as good as any other school. There are good teachers and their are not so great teacher but that is everywhere. A lot of students like to complain and say "Apache Junction High School has a lot of teen pregnancies, drugs, and bullying." As a community we have came together to prevent bullying from our schools with disciplinary options for students who are bullying others. All you have to do is speak up and the school will help you feel safe in school like you should. The pregnancy and drugs aren't just at AJHS but at almost every school in the United States. If you want your kids to go to AJHS don't worry about the comments that are bashing this school. People with 1 star are most likely the kids who just don't like school in general. Yeah, I would have any school also if I physically had no interest in having a good education and going to college one day. AJHS isn't a bad school its how you spend your time in school to determinate your opinion.

In my opinion, this school is one of the best 10 schools in the US

We have had some good and some bad experiences with AJHS. We like the music program and ROTC, for example, but the school is focused on teachers only and there's not much discipline or attempt to really teach the students. Performance academically is poor and most kids don't get any help - they are ignored. This school is overrated as an 8; more like a 4 and continuing in decline. They have a lot of teen pregnancies it is known and they don't do anything about it - their "solution" is to have classes where girls carry toy babies around and I find this APPALING. The teachers make no attempt to keep students up to date or to assist them when they need help, so there is no "teaching" as we would define it. This school as lost the battle; they have a teacher's union that's all about the teachers and they've abandoned the students almost completely. AJHS adds up to four wasted years for many students due to neglect of academics; a failure to deliver teaching on basic skills everyone needs to survive when they graduate.

Horrible, horrible place. Constant cuts, teachers leaving, bad instruction. Don't send your kids here. They lie about benefits to new teachers, this is certainly not a happy place to educate students.
