Family engagement is an issue. Could be a great school but it takes an entire community to make it one. Students are good and try daily. They just let the distractions win a large majority of the time. Staff are solid and seem to be on their job trying to get the best outcomes possible.

This school has one of the worse bullying problems in the county (they were feature on the local news more than once). The academics are embarrassing (14% of students are at or above in Math proficiency & 29% proficiency in Reading according to US News) We pulled our son out after 2 weeks from bullying and no support. His personality changed because of fear and absolutely no support from staff (he was a straight A student prior to attending here). If you can avoid this school - please do.

This is a sad and disrespectful place. My student hated going to school every day. The disrespect to teachers is at a level that it was unhealthy for my student to go there anymore. We moved him to Brentwood school system and he is much happier now. I feel for the teachers and staff being abused by so many of the students and nothing is ever done. Bullying is a way of life. Rumors of parents going on campus to fight teachers and other students. I never thought any place could be so disgusting. If you have the option stay away until it improves.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! My son has been bullied since day 1 and they have done nothing. The staff is a mess, they don't take their jobs seriously and its sad. I am currently looking for a better school to place my son in even though this school is walking distance to our home. I'd rather he take a bus than to walk here and be treated in such a way daily. He came from Alameda School District which was amazing, he has not learned anything here except how to fight better because the bullies are too much.

The administration that runs this school is a sad example. This school is site beautiful. This doe not help my child receive a good education. This school is full of bad behavioral students and bullies. It should be embarrassing for the folks that run it. I can't wait for my child to be out of here. My child has a 4.0 gpa yet is not proficient in state testing. Tells you they don't teach! I am tired of teaching my child what this school can't or won't. Disgusting!

So thankful we got our son out of that school when we did, granted his sixth grade experience was good but after that is was terrible. Luckily he is now in a fantastic school district that actually cares about their students and requires them to do their best and to act their best and he is excited about school again. After being bullied there and getting no support or protection from teachers or anyone at the DRMS, he was scared of school and hated it, but Brentwood Unified brought his love of school back...

School is for education...not rehabilitation ...teachers need to do their job

This school is super easy. I've heard that middle school has at least 1 hour of homework. Here they have no more than 30 minutes. I've had good teachers like Mr. Fithian who was a very good math teacher but there are a lot of lazy teachers too. The students are violent and think beating people up is fun. There are a lot of class cutters that go unnoticed. The principal acts as if he is a volunteer. There are classes with 40 students. There has even been students who had to sit on the counters. There is a lot of good students here but there are so many bad students it is really hard to tell. One thing I really like is that they have more Algebra 1 classes than any other middle school in Antioch.

It's okay...but it isn't as clean a people say it is. I am going to be a 7th grader soon and last year wasn't as great. I got a 4.0 without any effort. You could pretty much roam the halls without a hall pass because they don't even check you. Some people are really rude there! ;w; I was walking during the mile and this one girl said "MOVE IT!" D: So this school is OKAY. My favourite teacher is Mr. Marchetti :D
