Well-meaning principal and teachers who are doing the best they can. Poor organization and lack of follow-through everywhere. The social culture of the school is horrendous. Kids are vicious to each other constantly.

I will give this school 4 stars because I believe that teachers and staff management have been working really hard to improve this school! I feel they are on the right track to achieve their goals. So many educational platforms have been added and provided to students. Differentiation strategies have been implemented to meet all the students needs. They have great PDs for the teachers to improve their teaching skills. GREAT ESL and Title one department. Very friendly and welcoming environment!

I went there when I was younger and it prepared me for college so well, it was nice having the same elementary teachers there throughout my educational journey and the staff treats you like family and cares for the students well-being. I will forever be thankful for those personal finance classes I was taught in high school, they teach you the real stuff

Ask any teacher who works at the school. Not one will tell you anything good about the school or the administrative staff. All the previous post were done by the principal and staff. Also not one teacher ever comes back and why the turn over for the students is every year????? Why it is still open everyone wonders. I worked here a year and was shocked no supplies, children out of control and new principal stays in her office all day with the door shut. Which we all say isn;t bad as she never even holds a teaching certificate yet she suppose to help us with teaching strategies? I rather wait tables than go back next year.

This school has a great atmosphere and lovely teachers who truly invest their time in the kids. The size of the school is such a great benefit as the staff gets to know the kids on a more personal level making it a close knit school where everyone wants to help & see each other thrive to be successful. I love the diversity of the school that exposes the kids to different cultures and multiple languages that instills a profound level of respect and appreciation for people from all walks of life. The school is in the process of being revamped to bring about even more exciting positive experiences for the kids. I am looking forward to seeing more improvements and successes come from this school. My kids have done very well at this school which helped prepare them for not only high school but college as well. My kids were able to be dual enrolled once they reached that time in high school and was ahead of their class. They remained on Honor Roll and took the same great experiences they learned at Multicultural Academy with them to both high school & college to appreciate all the diversity of both campuses and was able to communicate, learn and strive through the many types of cultures and personalities they were faced with in a positive & productive way, causing them to have great communication and create meaningful friendships and thrive in their new environment. The staff and teachers have lots of patience, care, and concern to address issues and they appreciate and listen to suggestions from both parents and students. Their main mission from what I observe is to make this school a safe, loving, productive place for our kids to thrive and learn.

Multicultural Academy is a great school! I have had the pleasure of having two children in the program. One of my children graduated from the middle school and was well prepared when he moved on to high school. I have been telling more and more friends and family about the school because my experience has been awesome!

I am so proud that i choose to take my children to M.A. It is a wonderful school. The learning environment is the best I've seen in a charter school in my life. I had a wonderful opportunity to talk with the different parents that enjoy there child going their too. My kids enjoy going to school as they get to explore all the different cultures and religions that their friends follow. M.A is very diverse and my kids don't only learn from the books but how to interact with kids that don't exactly relate to them. My children will carry all the virtues that they learn from M.A to the real world.

I have attend Multicultural Academy since the 4th grade. I graduated with honors and a full ride scholarship to EMU. M.A prepared me for college as I am doing really well during my first year of college. I landed on the Deans list and was nominated to join the honors college. I owe all my success to M.A as they challenged me and taught me that there is nothing that cannot be accomplished if you put your mind to it.

WARNING!!! RANT AHEAD! Worst. School. EVER. Right now, I am currently in 8th grade at an AAPS (Ann arbor public school) school. I've been to this school K-3. (came back in 6th grade, got bullied once) I've been constantly bullied every single damn day from K-3 because of my headscarf. And i was bullied by a Muslim, too. My brother and I was also bullied for no apparent reason everyday in the bus. Insults would spew at us, and we'd also get hit. Apparently, there is no fun classes like Art or technology. When you're taking you're child out of this school, they call and beg you not to. They KNOW that without students, they'll shut down. As for the school itself, it's terrible. The lunch is disgusting. They're always serving a small pizza slice twice a week with an apple or orange, and they serve the spaghetti with dry meat and no sauce. the students have no respect for teachers. The teachers gave me a detention once for standing up to sharpen my pencil while she was talking to an adult. The teaching is ABSOLUTELY low. They'd teach 5th grade stuff to an 8th grader. Please, I BEG you not to send you're child to this horrible school.

I once was a student at the school and I hated it so much. At first it seemed okay but I noticed how the teachers had zero time for caring about the students, especially for the major fact that there was ALWAYS favoritism when it came to the students who were related to the owners or head of the school. I noticed how they would immediately send out students who weren't from the same religious group or ethnic background, right away, claiming they were being "disrespectful" even if the child tried to tell the teacher what happened or explain something, the staff would not care and continue to accuse the child anyway. The principal at the time was not very active in discipline and was more of a intimidation instead who did not care about talking kindly to a child or intervening when a problem occurred but much rather just dismiss the child with a harsh consequence. Not only did I hate the school but my parents and siblings. Don't be fooled by the appearance. Never send your kids there. Ever.

How does a school with such poor test scores stay in operation? Is anyone paying attention? There are charter schools popping up like weeds with little to no accountability!

After attending M.A , it has been a great experince to prepare me for my future. The teaching staff does not allow you to give up. They stay after school tutoring for those who need the extra help. The principal has an open door policy for students and staff for any concerns or needs you have in school or in you personal life. She is someone you can talk to and be social about with anything. Everyone is so caring and helpful with anything. Thank you for everything M.A

This school is just amazing my child comes here and has an awesome time. When she changed schools this school really helped and got her on the right path it is amazing how she gets up every morning and excited to go. The staff and administration is VERY polite and caring. They are very helpful. I do recommend someone to bring there child to this school.
