Fantastic School which seeks to engage students moving from all across the state and country into the community.

Terrible school, terrible superintendent and even more terrible bus service. The gangs, fighting, and the lack of staff supervision is comical. Keep your kids far away from this district. Don’t dare call the superintendent he doesn’t care!!

Dont be so quick to hate on your dresscode. I libe in angleton and would rather go to their high school but i live closer to west columbias hoghs hool. onestly, the way the other reviews are making it sound, I WISH OUR DRESSCODE was even close to how leniant other schools are ( I go to west columbia) we can't have unnatural hair colors, can't wear multi-colored pants, shirts have to have sleeves and can't have logos on them ( they can only have designs, like stripes or plad), we can only have 1 ear piercing, only close toed shoes, shirt collars can't be bellow collar bones, pants have to be bellow knee and can't have holes in them, girls can't wear yoga pants , we have to wear ID's, guys can't have facial hair or head hair below the ear lobe , and the 1st most important rule at west columbia high school is... YOUR SHIRT MUST BE TUCKED IN OR YOU GET A month of det onention!!

In all honesty, as a parent said on another review, they seem more concerned on how we dress and our piercings/ hair than actual education. For example, if I were to have a chunk of my hair dyed an 'unnatural color' (pink, dark blue, ect), or have a lip ring, I would be forced to dye my hair/ take out the ring because it's 'distracting to others'. Yeah, it's only distracting now because you pointed it out. I mean, this school is good, it gives me good opportunities and classes and stuff, but on the announcements, it's always a long bit about the sports, a small congrats to students for something, and a long monologue about 'you can't look like this, and you can't wear this, and you can't have your hair like this, and you can't wear your piercings besides your ears, and I don't care that it's 100 degrees outside, ladies, you can't shorts that are shorter than a dollar bill width above the knee and your straps have to me two fingers wide. Oh, and people, wear your ID's.' So all in all, this school is ridiculous about clothing/ piercings/ hair/ tattoos and the education is merely good (and that's at its very best).
