Ptarmigan is a great school! The main issue that I see is a lack of parent involvement - nobody goes to PTA meetings at all. The teachers are motivated and caring, and I have seen the office staff kindly deal with some children that are clearly troubled. I have always had a pleasant and welcoming experience in the office as well as in the classroom. Looks like some begrudged parents have posted on this forum in the past. This is a good place with a lot of diversity.

This school is cold and dark from the second you step in the door. Don't expect anyone to smile, say hello or ask if you need anything. There is tons of bullying, starting with the principal and on down. Adults are not respectful, how can they expect kids to be? The only thing good about this school is that my daughter learned a lot of good writing, her middle school teacher says she's one of the best.

I think the school needs to really smack down on the bullying it is BAD at this school and they dont take it serious enough at all. They also find the bad kids and keep on blaming them for the bad things and dont open eyes to the fact that other kids are behaving badly as well.
