For me, I promoted this school in 2012. Hard to believe that it has been a long time. I joined many extracurricular activities and did many exciting things. From band, leadership class and computer classes, this school discovers the many exciting things to offer.

I have been at other schools. Ball Junior High by far is the best. They have many programs for students to participate in such as AVID, YMCA, sports, Girls Inc., etc. They have a great special education department and they staff is very caring towards the students.

I am a parent of three children. My 12th grade daughter attended Ball Jr High School as a new student from another district. She did have the "normal" new student angst but she grew into a student who can self-advocate for her education and stand up for what is right. There were opportunities for her to sing and act in the High School theater program as well as the district level which helped her in her audition process for her current High School. We strongly believe that her experiences, good and bad, made her the college-bound student she is today. I currently have a 8th grader who is attending Ball Jr High in Special Education which he feels he has a "ability" rather than a disability. We made a appointment to meet and greet with Dr. Fried before he started 7th grade which made the transition from grade school to Junior High seamless. I have no reservations in my mind that my son is safe and receives the services he needs including the fine arts. Our new principal, Dr. Dabney-Lieras, has continued to provide a safe environment and she has created a environment that encourages students to do their best. Mr. Valeriano and all the other admin team are the best. The Saturday classes with the emphasis on theater, art and math is a big step in the right path. All AUHSD students should be college ready and parents must realize higher education is not just a financially sacrifice but also a sacrifice of time whether it be volunteering at school events, donating supplies, or even as simple as checking Aries three times a week to make sure your child knows you care about their grades. Education does not begin when you drop off your student at school, it begins at home. We are proud to partner with Ball Jr High School to make it a Blue Ribbon School! Go Blackhawks!

Ball Junior High has gone down hill, overcrowded, poor leadership, were supposed to trust these people with our children, the counselors pass the buck whenever possible, the assistant principal reminds me of a prison guard who enjoys her power a bit too much, They recently got a new principal who in my opinion does not have any business in her position based on first hand experience.

My daughter goes there and I know that it is a great school; from the Principal to the teachers, they really do a great job, and communicate with the parents really well.

This school is a good school . Sure , it doesn't have the best people . But the teachers here are amazing , they'll care for you no matter what . They spend their time after school everyday . The choir & band are spectacular . The ASB always gets involved .The sports are fun ! The students are helpful too ! If some people had actually tried , we would be a great school . So please , don't think this school is a bad school ! The teachers here at great !
