I had 2 children go to this school and the last year they attended was the worst. The teachers at recess do not watch your children at all but sit in a group and gossip. Their only attention is on each other.Both of my children got hurt with head injuries at recess (different times of the year). No teacher or adult saw what happened each time of course. The 1st grader's teacher would not let him see the nurse after his injury, saying he just went to the bathroom 10 minutes ago and must go to class instead.Later in the school year, the principle Dee Dee Baker, punished my 1st grader by having him clean 5 toilets under the janitor's supervision. He said the janitor wasn't mean or anything, she just made him clean the inside bowls and into the bottom where the pipes connect. He moped the floor following the toilets.We took that incident to the superintendent, where nothing happened but an apology from the principle. Following the apology she told us that she would punish any child again by having them clean toilets.Maybe I am too guarded as a parent, but I don't remember using chemicals and cleaning toilets until I was at least 12 years old. Just my opinion.

This school is phenomenal! They work so hard to get their students on grade-level and really care! I have volunteered there, and been very impressed! You wouldn't believe how much goes on behind-the-scenes to provide a good quality education for all. If a child is given a consequence, be thrilled that someone cares enough to hold the children to a high standard. Those teachers inspire our children. Don't even mention a paycheck unless you see how much of theirs they spend on your child on activities, materials, snacks, decorations, and science experiments to ensure success. Instead of complaining, send a note of encouragement and support. Try doing something nice for others, like looking for what is going right, instead of what is going wrong. It is easy to point a finger, but then help make it a better place. Volunteer your talent and at least cut out some laminating or send up healthy snacks.

No one cares about your children here only about their paychecks. Useless trying to talk to anyone cause no one listens. They send homework and projects home constantly but have yet to see anything they actually do in the school. For your child to get a recess they have to stand in line and answer several quiz questions if they get it right they get recess thats if their is enough time after they have stood in line. Don't send your children here.

If you want your child to have to write sentences for any little thing that they miss on their homework or for not doing their "stratigies" exactly perfect then this schools for you. And don't try to express your concerns to the administrative staff because they tell you that you have no say-so in the way they educate your child.
