Our experience at Rosebud Academy was deeply troubling, especially when it came to their treatment of students with disabilities. Despite presenting itself as an inclusive school, Rosebud Academy is far from an inclusive and empathetic school. The school consistently ignored its responsibility to implement accommodations outlined in students’ educational plans. Children who struggled were often pushed aside rather than helped, losing precious opportunities to grow and learn together with their peers. This lack of effort speaks to a systemic disregard for the education of children who may need extra support to succeed. Rosebud Academy fails to provide the mental health supports and to ensure the emotional well-being of all students. The lack of effort to include them in the school community created long-lasting emotional harm, eroding their confidence and sense of self-worth. The school’s approach to special education was particularly appalling. Children who required accommodations were treated as burdens rather than valued members of the community. Instead of creating opportunities for these students to thrive, the school relegated them to the sidelines, neglecting their right to an education and participation in school life. Parents who raised concerns about these failures were dismissed or ignored, with the school showing little interest in collaboration or accountability. Their focus seemed to be more on maintaining appearances than ensuring and prioritizing students well-being. For families of children with disabilities, neurodiversity, English as a second language, or unique learning needs, Rosebud Academy is not the supportive or inclusive school it claims to be. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. No child should experience the neglect and exclusion we encountered here. It’s worth noting that parents were actively encouraged to leave positive reviews in exchange for rewards, masking the school’s systemic failures behind a veil of fabricated praise. Please do not trust these 5 star reviews!

I am a mother of 6. My eldest just graduated from Pasadena Rosebud Academy last year. I currently have an 8th grader, 4th grader and 2nd grader enrolled at Pasadena Rosebud Academy. My experience has been great. My oldest is currently in high school at a private school and Rosebud has definitely prepared her. The school is very academically strong, teaching them to be critical thinkers. The environment of the school is safe and family oriented. I love the parent involvement. I always tell my friends and family that rosebud is like a private school but free.

I am beyond impressed with the high standard of education at Pasadena Rosebud Academy. My child has blossomed socially and has excelled academically. This school sets high expectations for their students, starting with their youngest scholars(Kindergarten). The weekly Homework packets and reading logs has prepared my child to excel in the next school year. Their Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Fajardo,is absolutely amazing!!! She is so kind and patient with the kids. I would 100% recommend this school.

My son was extended an opportunity to attend Pasadena Rosebud Academy for his 5th grade year and after four years he graduated at the conclusion of the 8th grade. During his time at Rosebud, he was challenged academically unlike any other school he has attended in the past, which included public and private school programs. What impressed me the most was that their curriculum was structured whereby lessons were introduced in class and reinforced through detailed homework packet assignments each and every night. Some of these “homework packet assignments” would take up to 2-3 hours to complete,. However, this method of vigorous lesson reinforcement created an academic work ethic that has caused my son to excel while in high school.Currently, my son is a sophomore at Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino CA, and has achieved honor roll status each and every semester thus far. In my opinion, his success in high school could be directly attributed to the preparation he received at Pasadena Rosebud Academy. Even through the many challenges of on-line learning during the Covid-19 shut down, Pasadena Rosebud Academy was able to adapt and further prepare its students for the next academic level.Everyone at Pasadena Rosebud Academy, from Executive Director (Shawn Brown) to all members of the administration office, and from it’s teachers to the support staff are all very friendly, attentive, competent and dedicated towards uplifting the minds of our young children. Their stated mission, “To provide an exceptional educational experience through uncompromisingly high expectations and standards for all students, staff, and parents in Pasadena and surrounding areas,” has been instrumental in preparing the minds of young people as they navigate their way throughout life. Rosebud has an array of teachers who are keenly aware on how to stimulate the learning process of children while nurturing the entire child. They certainly believe in the benefits of academically challenging their students in order to receive maximum results! Rosebud students who later attend high school and subsequently attend four year colleges and universities have been undoubtedly better prepared and more capable of achieving academic success, as compared to students of other public and/or private schools in this area.

Pasadena Rosebud Academy is a choice school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. The school director is passionate about educating the whole child and dedicated to closing the achievement gap.Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They know the importance of getting the parents involved in educating the whole child.Great team – great school!

Since the first day that I walked into Pasadena Rosebud Academy (PRACS)., the staff has been extraordinarily supportive! At PRACS, they really exhibit a school culture that is very rear to find. I always feel so welcomed here. If you are looking for a school that prioritizes their students continuous development. look no further PRACS is the way to go!

I'm really questioning these 5 star reviews, can't say that I've encountered any of these great actions. Kind of makes you wonder about the clicks between certain ones that was mentioned in the lesser rated reviews. Although, reviews are quite helpful it's always best to try things out for yourself. Hopefully, your family's experience would be greater.

Outside of a few great teachers and an awesome principle, I would look elsewhere. Although the public sector is experiencing some hardship, there is at least an option of joining the PTA and working towards change, Unless you are apart of the schools clique you are out of luck.

2/5 is my experience. I hoped it would live up to the previous reviews but more than likely those reviews are from staff or the clicks. We only stayed enrolled for a few months before deciding to move on. I do not recommend this school, but try for yourself.

I really love this school. If you want your child to be challenged and are willing to put in the time and effort needed to support your child, this is the school for you. The teachers, staff, and director care for the students and want them to succeed as students and as human beings.

There are some helpful staff. However mixed personal beliefs and inappropriate conduct with parents proves a direct aspect of misconduct and unprofessional behavior. Professional misconduct, incompetence on more than one occasion. I rate is school 5/10 based on the developmental testing methods, however, once our child’s score are up we are leaving and never looking back. This has been worst experience. So disappointing.

My son attended Rosebud Academy from K thru 3rd grade. Great curriculum, structure and focus around the students. The student to teacher ratio is approx. 20 students to one teacher. My son received a lot of one on one attention, he was able to understand what subject/topic he needed to spend more time on from the feedback from his teachers. The teachers also kept me informed on what my son lacked and needed to continue to focus on. There was a teacher/parent partnership and I loved it! The principle is great, throughout the years her vision and goal for the children to achieve academic excellence never wavered and she continued to push them all to arise to the occasion as well as the parents. Her encouragement continued to keep me focus on my sons academic future. All in all, if we had not moved to another state this year, I would have definitely kept my son at Rosebud.

The principal has a good vision, but she doesn't have the support for her vision. Gossiping and nepotism is a MAJOR problem at this school. This school is not equipped/has the desire to help students with special needs.

Love this school! It's not only an institution of academic excellence, but it's also well organized and family oriented. Just as I was beginning to worry that the academic expectations might be too demanding for my kindergarten child, she exceeded my expectation with the help of Rosebud's organized curriculum and caring teachers. I am very thankful that our family is a part of this academic community.

Warm and lovely atmosphere, from the director and office staff, great! It is nice to know the director has decided set a better example for the children and parents of this school. After hearing some very disappointing and deplorable things from several parents who left this school after trying to help this school; it has left a bad taste in my mouth of me wanting to put my child at this school after they called me to register my child. I question the director s leadership in properly running a school and working with parents. It is nice to know the teachers at this school are working hard to make sure the students are learning and I see the test scores prove it, however, schools have to be more than test scores, and accountability must be demanded by parents from those who run schools. Great Schools has an excellent article about what makes a great principal and how to advocate for your children that I think an informed parent would want to know. Kudos to those parents who stood for what was right in wanting a better ran school beside just test scores!! I wish we had you at where I am now, a private school.
