My children are good kids, but are by no means perfect. We’ve had our fair share of academic and behavioral issues. The administration and the teachers at this school face many challenges that other schools may not. We have kids coming in from the multimillion dollar neighborhoods and then some from the government assisted housing neighborhoods. There is a great disparity among the education and language skills of the student population- but somehow all the kids seem to do well. They are excited about school. These is a direct effect of the hard work of these teachers and administrators to close the gap. My kids who struggled to fit in at their previous school, have seamlessly adjusted to this school. It’s a great feat for the school that despite large class sizes, teachers are still reaching students- pushing them forward and guiding them to success.

My kids love this school and have made great memories. We all have built positive relationships with the staff and families of Hermosa.

Thank you Ms Briten (1st grade) for being such a great teacher my son. You were always encouraging him to do more and he was excited to go to school every single day.

This is his first year at Hermosa for my son because we moved to Alta Loma last summer. He has made many new friends this year and seems to really like school. He has no problem going to the teacher to ask a question if needed. The office staff is great too. They are friendly and I have always been greeted with a smile. My son will go to JR High next year but so far it seems like a great school district.

The new principal came to make changes without taking in consideration the kids or the parents. Leadership skills are poor hopefully the school prestige won't go down because of the bad decisions the principal is making.
