Big focus on being student athletes but they focus more on the spots too much and not the studies enough. The sports teams aren't even good. The administration is not very helpful when it comes to student issues. Instead of addressing the issues they just push it away and imply it is our fault instead of the administration. The environment fosters bad behavior in the young teenage boys and the school doesn't do anything about these bad behaviors. It always seems that they can do whatever but not get any repercussions especially if they are in sports team. This isn't more on the school itself but the teachers that don't do anything. The teachers can vary from amazing to absolutely horrible.

Never felt more ostracized in my life. For being a "family," they sure know how to divide their students. Terrible peers and even worse teachers in some cases. Avoid at all costs.

Graduated in 1961. Best education and prep for the future I could have imagined. Critical thinking skills within context and history; well-rounded social grounding; opportunities taken for leadership; instilled moral and ethical discipline; learning the importance of structure in life ... all led to a very successful and broad career based at CCHS, nurtured at Duquesne U, consistently growing thereafter and continuing today.

My daughter is a recent graduate of Central. While Central is not in the nicest part of town it delivers the best education in the Lehigh Valley. The faculty truly cares about the success of the students. It is not something you can put into words but there is just something about Central that is different. The students come from many different walks of life but somehow form a true family where everyone has a place.

I teach in a pubic school and send my son to ACCH. It is a strong academic school. Yes you will have teachers that are boring in both schools. The school can't be "going down hill" when they have exceeded two years in a row with their enrollment. The teachers come from all walks of academic life from a business owners, scientist, and engineers. The students and parents share the same morals and values. If you want to float through school then this is not the school for you. Its challenging and the students are smart. And the administration has changed. Also, teachers make a point to come in early and stay late for students who need help in a respective subject. Love the school and my son loves it too.

best college prep school in the region. No school is perfect, but ACCHS has great success with getting kids ready for college and teaching them responsibility and accountability.

Students were great. Teachers were sub par. I had two great teachers and the others were very sub par. Class sizes are also large, just more kids shoved into less classes. I transfered from Public school and I'm planning on transferring back at the end of the semester. I was honestly disappointed with it all. The fact they call this school a "family" is the biggest joke.

Amazing experience so far. My daughter is a freshman this year and cannot say enough good things about her school. She says the kids are really friendly and the teachers treat the kids with respect. Mass at Central is awesome. It's hard to put into words, but there's a really special feeling at this school. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I graduated from Central Catholic in 2007 and I can honestly say that my experience there has shaped my life in such a significant way. There were complaints about "sports rules" and "too much faith" but why did you enter a Catholic school in the first place? Faith education is a primary goal of Catholic education, if that isnt something that you hold as important than don't enroll in a Catholic school. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change anything. A lot of the drama over the role of faith obviously came from those who either felt threatened by it or who just werent ready to accept that in their life at that time. I personally did not find it over bearing but rather a very peaceful and welcoming environment. I would reccomend it. AMDG +
