My nieces and nephews go to this school and they love it there so much. They are getting an excellent education and most importantly, they are getting amazing formation in their faith. Their teachers are very dedicated and really care for their students and it shows.

STS has been a true blessing. We found this little school by chance and I thank God for that. My son loves it here. The teacher is so caring and experienced. We feel lucky to be here. The classes are combo classes which I actually like. My son is in the 3/4 class with Ms M. She has an assistant who splits the class and teaches the 4th graders for Math. My son is completely happy here. The kids are sweet and the principal is great! She’s honest and you can tell she puts her heart into running the school. I only wish we switched here sooner. We are a new family here in 4th grade and my son was able to transition smoothly. The school let him do 2 shadow days before we enrolled so we could make sure this was a good fit. I honestly never thought we would be going with a private catholic school since we aren’t a church going family but this school has exceeded my expectations. I am now considering going to the church. The sense of community makes this school warm and welcoming. There is a no technology rule for all students. No phones or computers. I wasn’t too sure about that initially but it’s actually been just fine. There’s no bullying, the homework is manageable and and the academic rigor is just right. My son loves learning again because of this school and I just couldn’t be happier.

I have 2 children, who have graduated from St. Therese, both are in Honors and AP classes now at their high schools. Their love and knowledge of their faith grew so much!I currently have 5 more children at St. Therese. I believe St. Therese will prepare them for any high school. St. Therese is a home away from home making it difficult to leave each day they are there.

After this school adopted classical curriculum more than four years ago, the school survived the initial challenge and is now thriving, the students excel in many aspects, including in character, personal growth, virtues, and academic.

After four years of attending the school, my son will be leaving it at the end of the school year. It is evident that the school took a big hit from the administrative changes and unless they fix that, the school will continue to go downhill. My son loves his current teacher and he loved third grade teacher when he started, wasn't nuts about his fourth grade teacher. It really is too bad some excellent educators are indirectly being affected by the administration's decisions.

The school may be small, but we're a strong community. I can't tell you how many times I've engaged with parents who are on the brink of tears telling me about how much their child has soared from the beginning of the school year. Yes, we're the only school in the ADLA that has an Atrium... Atrium! It is truly a beautiful space that allows our littles one to learn about their Creator who LOVES them. The Principal isn't cryptic about test scores. Test scores are mailed out at the end of the year. Since the transition 3 years ago, the test scores have increased. It's clear as day the students are thriving. I'm never greeted with "humglum" face, the parents are joyful, the staff is enthusiastic. We now have Golf at our school. Our Varsity girl's Basketball team won their DIVISION. This school is only looking up. I do not understand the negative reviews that families are writing about who know longer go here. I highly recommend calling the school, asking for a tour, and seeing for yourself what this school has to offer for YOU and YOUR family. Prayers for your discernment!

I haven't heard of this website until very recently. I think it's a great resource for parents and hopefully schools who are willing to take constructive feedback to improve the quality of education for our kiddos.I can't speak for the school's current staff, I don't know if things are better or worse than they were a year ago when my daughter graduated. I can't say that I'm entirely surprised by some of the reviews on the website. There were teachers and parents that weren't happy with the change in leadership, self-included.What I find interesting is that reviews are either excellent or very poor. I guess it really depends on whether or not your children and you are going to be a good fit or not. As some reviews say, this is a very small community, it's a family in a way, which could be a good thing, but it usually ends up being a bad one.There are few simple things the school could do to improve are: computer classes(so many jobs in this field now and in the future), sport and arts (I know this can be more complicated because of lack of funds), consider new leadership (many members of the community aren't happy with the current principal or pastor).

I actually wrote a review 4 years ago and gave it a five star. If I had access to that email, I would change it to 1 star. This school is going downhill which is very sad because some of the staff is great, but they are not supported by their principal.

Stay away from this school! It's expensive and the academics are low in comparison to other schools in Alhambra. The principal is very vague with the testing results.

From what I know, this used to be a good school years ago, but my experience has been pretty bad. I'm moving my children to another school next year.

While my overall experience with STCS has been decent, one other thing that I would recommend is for the students to particpate in more outside academic competitions. This would definately be a good learning experience and confidence booster for the students as a whole.

I have had the exact opposite experience from the last reviewer. My child is in the Kindergarten and I have never feared for his safety. EVERYONE at the school knows him--janitor, pastor, teachers, students, office personnel--and looks out for him. When he's had problems, it has been easy (read: required ha!ha!) to meet with the principal. The school is very small, so I find it hard to believe she would rarely see or interact with any child. Regarding academics, all I can say is that my child couldn't read when he started Kindergarten, but that he will probably be in Level 2 readers by the summer at this rate. He also looks forward to the Montessori-style religion class, which is amazing considering how he complains about church on Sunday. Finally, I've seen the high school level algebra on the after-school classroom board, so I haven't any doubts about his math skills being advanced by the time he graduates. But to be honest my highest concern is that he grows up to be a good person and his behavior has improved markedly since he started at this school. I cannot account for other people's experiences, but in mine this school has been a blessing. (Note: I recommend that you read the May 3, 2017 review from another parent.)

STCS is a gem! It provides passionate, faith-filled teachers, an effective classical education, and a vibrant campus faith life that helps students to love Jesus and their Catholic Faith.
