Our experience has been amazing. Our daughter has developed her leadership and people skills beyond what we had hoped. The adjustment to school from home during Covid has been easier than we feared due to the student driven environment.

We absolutely love this school. My six-year-old daughter is so excited to go to school every day that when we get up in the morning, she is waiting by the front door, completely ready to go (she's eaten, dressed, brushed her teeth and hair, and has her lunch packed, jacket on, and backpack ready!). It's amazing. I've never seen such joy. She hates the weekends and even lied to me about NOT being sick so she could go to school. That's how much she wants to be there every day. The school philosophy is completely in line with our own (creating critical thinkers who are the heroes of their own journeys, which means focusing on the whole child--academics, but also character development; allowing students to take ownership over their own learning; taking risks and growing from low-stakes failure and mistakes; exploring creativity and approaches different from their own or what they are used to; learning empathy, kindness, and how to listen). If I were to create a school (I teach at UNM), this would be it. We are a community, a family, and we're all in this together. The small class size fosters this level of connection, and the passion and commitment of each guide, the director, the founders, the parents, and the students work together to create something truly special. I cannot recommend Acton enough!

We are so happy to have found a school that more closely resembles the work environments we believe our children will encounter as adults. The structure of the school gives the students a great deal of responsibility and it requires them to own their own education.

Acton ABQ is the most innovative school in town. Education has badly needed to be reinvented as the old model is mostly irrelevant for jobs our children will have in 2030. Acton gets this and, for entrepreneurial families who are willing to try something different and OK to see their kids learn from failure, this is a great fit!

Excellent. Student are encouraged to take charge of their own learning and build community. I have seen so much growth in my son!
