My child started kindergarten in 2020 remotely so when she entered 1st grade at Love, in person, she thrived and fell in love with school. The teachers and the principal are wonderful, passionate and committed to creating a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. There is a strong sense of community at Love Elementary with a caring and supportive PTA. A diverse school with families from all different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and an everyday culture that promotes inclusion and respect for all cultures.

I am extremely grateful to the wonderful principal, teachers, administrators and PTA at Love Elementary. My 4th and 1st graders both had dedicated teachers who supported them academically and emotionally through remote learning, part-time in person and now full time back in school throughout the pandemic. Both kids are flourishing academically and socially thanks to all the dedicated educators and parent volunteers. This is an incredible community that I feel fortunate my children are a part of.

We have 2 kids in this school and we love it. Both of our kids are very advanced - they reads 4 or more grades above their age. They have had great experiences at Henry Haight. While it is hard to keep them challenged, their teachers have found ways to do it. The principal is very energetic, accessible, and engaged. She has the school working on a new innovative plan focused on international perspectives. Kids are great, the families in the school are great. We love it.

I love the facility and I love how calm and organized Haight is. Our son's teacher is wonderful, and he loves going to school every day! All the staff are friendly and professional and the kids are responsible and well-behaved. Great little neighborhood school.

My daughter did Transitional Kinder last year at Henry Haight and she had a wonderful experience. Me Shih was fantastic with the kids and easy to communicate with. The school is the most diverse in Alameda, it has wonderful garden and clean and safe facility. We are looking forward to starting Kindergarden this year and continue enjoying the wonderful staff and community. This school score needs to be updated to a higher rate.

Our son is in his first year @ Henry Haight & we love it! Our teacher is excellent. The Principal is accessible, visible and involved. The PTA is working hard to involve parents and there are LOTS of community building events. The diversity of the school is amazing and is such an asset for all of us (students and adults). We have met with so many caring, dedicated, hard-working parents and teachers at this school! There is a truly wonderful garden program and a new "peacemakers" program. I think the Great Schools ranking should be higher because test scores went up so much in the last year. It seems like old data is being used.

Our son is in his third year @ Henry Haight & he loves it! Teachers & principle are very competent and accessible. There is a strong core of parents involved in many areas of the school including a great school garden. My only complaint would be the 25-1 teacher to student ratio that forces teachers to teach to the middle, not challenging some students enough.

My son went to this school for 4 years from kindergarten to 3rd grade. We loved this school. Teachers are very nice and dedicated. They are easily reachable by email or phone. And it's fully fenced and gated, so we feel secure. They have many field trips every year, which is good. Lot of class room activities for the kids in every grade.

We really love this school! We have two children attending - one who always does well academically and one with special needs -- and both are thriving. The best thing about the school has been how professional and dedicated the teachers are. We also love the diverse, involved parent community. We feel so lucky that this is our neighborhood school.

We are starting our second year at Henry Haight elementary in Alameda and have a positive experience to share. Thus far we have experienced good, caring teachers and principal(s) - the previous pricipal retired early in 2011. There is a wonderful, supportive staff throughout the school and a very diverse (read: real world) school population. From what we see, the parental involvement is on the upswing over the last few years and people seem excited to be involved. Our daughter transferred starting at the beginning of second grade and she has been welcomed by the teachers/staff and she and we have found new friends whom we like very much. We look forward to being invvolved in school activities and having our second child at the school eventually.
