If you’re a parent or guardian looking for a school, this one particular school is not for your child. I will be listing one flaw (or more) of each grade to tell you why this is not the right school. Preschool does not have any flaws. It has great teachers there who really give a head-start in parenting because they teach how to brush your teeth, how to use the bathroom, etc.Kindergarten is the same as Preschool; it has a great teacher who enforces good behavior through a sort of reward system. Now this is where it starts to deteriorate. The 1st grade teacher doesn’t have full control of the class, so the students take advantage of that. I have seen one always punching or aggressively hugging the 6th graders. The 2nd grade has a similar problem with 1st grade, having them break the dress code and typical rules stated in our handbook. The 3rd grade teacher used to be pretty mean. However, I believe that they has turned over a new leaf and now very seldom is mean to the current 3rd graders.4th grade has no flaws in my opinion. The teacher puts the fun in learning by engaging the students to learn with relatable topics. They are always available to speak to students about anything personal. They are currently one of my favorite teachers. Now here is 5th grade. The 5th grade teacher is truly unreliable. From what I have observed, she has took control of some teachers and the way they teach their students. Her methods of teaching are very dumb and can affect the student’s mental health. I am a victim of her acts. She’d make me cry because I felt so embarrassed. She made me think that I was stupid, dumb, and not worth it for this world. She makes me put on this mask that prevents me from being my true self when she was around. Sometimes, I would just fake being sick in order to avoid her class. What really annoyed me was how she treated her students. I saw how she treated this one particular student badly. She’d treat them as if they were their grades. Favoritism. That was what she did. She also feels embarrassed that students that graduated from her grade weren’t doing so well in the next grade. Though, whenever she says that, I always think this: “Why are you embarrassed? You never taught us about anything. You always rant on about your children becoming successful! You know, we should feel embarrassed that we even had you as a teacher! You always say that ‘I care about your future’ but you do you care about mental health? NO!” (TBC)

This school was very good several years ago. The teaching quality from 1st to 5th, and 7th have deteriorated over the years. The school does not really allow creative growth for the students. Sadly the teachers to do not enforce good behavior. Even 1st and 2nd graders have been insulting each other and have been inappropriately touching each others. 2ND GRADERS! Can you believe it? Absolutely no enforcements! The one thing that annoys me the most is the 5th grade teacher. This teacher's methods do not work at all! This teacher gives just assignments and no verbal teachings. If they do talk, they are guilt ripping students and bragging about their family's achievements. ALSO, favoritism runs through 5th to 8th grade. TERRIBLE SCHOOL!

My experience at this school was awesome. The teachers are nice and actually teach me the good stuff.

This school is hands down one of the best Catholic schools in the state. Yes, the student body might not be as numerous as the larger Catholic schools, and yes, the campus might not be luxurious, but what this school lacks is made up in the quality of education that the teachers give. Think about it. A smaller campus means more individualized attention. From what I have seen, the teachers really do care for all students, regardless of their background. This is a school that wants every child to be the best version of himself and herself while being challenged academically. Teach to the test? No such thing. The students are trained to think critically, be problem solvers, have an opinion, and have character--Catholic character. These are the hallmarks of success in today's world. Yes, the work is tough and the teachers really push the students, but in the end they reap all the benefits of a firm foundation. Students really learn how to write, reason, argue--they learn how to be a functioning member of society. Wouldn't you want that for your child? That's why I selected SES for mine.

I feel that this school is one of the best on Oahu. Certain teachers go out of their way to assist the students in out of the box thinking. This, as a military member, is a great way to teach my child to respond to the world's challenges. I wished when I was growing up that I had gone to this school, especially the upper grades. I have recommended this to my military comrades who were not happy with the school their children were attending. I was surprised to see some of the comments written, as I have heard that these parents wanted higher grades than their children deserved, so they left the school and spread negative comments about this school. My children are working hard for their grades and so far love this school.

SES is a good school . All the comments above are written with personal motives and defamation. My children went to this school and they are all successful in their chosen paths. They learned the life skills and critical thinking. Teachers trains the students how to thrive in life putting GOD in their midst. I strongly recommend this school to my friends and family. They cannot please everyone but they had pleased GOD through fulfilling their mission.

Originally I liked this school the kindergarten teacher is excellent... however that teacher is leaving this year and going to another school. All of the rumors are true if you are military and pay money (lots of kids who attend do not) the teachers do not care! Overall very racist to white people. teacher aides have been hired here that do not speak English (I am not kidding here they did not speak English). Tagalog is the language you must be able to speak to get anywhere here. My daughters have encountered lots of bulling, sexual harassment and sexual assault and the Principal does not care. My daughter went to the Principal for being bullied and the Principal is made her write an apology for wasting her time. Catholic values don't exist here. don't waste your time.

My daughter is in kindergarten. Ms. Leong is amazing. My daughter can get up in front of a crowd an speak. At first I thought that public speaking was a little advanced for kindergarteners, but she has improved so much over the course of a year. They are able to tell time on an analog clock, count money, read books and write paragraphs! If that isn't impressive for a 5 year old, I don't know what is! Money well spent!
