Biggest joke of a school I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. They do not care about the best interest of the children, the majority of the are absent minded and ignorant. I can not wait to get my son out of there. No one had ever had such an issue dealing with my son who just has ADHD for the record. Never have I been called this excessively or had to deal with my son getting suspended off the bus more than he could ride it over things like rolling around in the seat. Like he’s not 6 with adhd on a vehicle with no seat belts.

Not a school for low income families. No transportation opportunities for before or after school help or after school sports. Limited communication on events or changes. Extremely disappointed with the special education Department. It seems they are more concerned with money than helping the children. I know I’m not the only parent that has been dissatisfied with this school when it comes to any children with an autism diagnosis. Seems like if you’re a rich white family with no disabilities willing to train your children to be robots and keep your mouth shut as a parent than Acushnet elementary is your school.

I would have given this school 5 stars if they actually sent out communications in a timely manner. Teachers are great, school grounds are beautiful and clean, kids are nice, but man administration needs to pull it together. I am a single working mom and try my hardest to keep on top of my son's schedule. I receive notices for days off/early dismissal's etc. the day before it happens. Fund raisers are given out a week before they are due. Book fairs are during regular working hours for most parents. They constantly ask for donations/ fund raisers/ handouts which I do understand the school needs what it needs and we are happy to help. But when I had to pay tuition because a public school does not have full day kindergarten I see all of the penny pinching as a problem. I grew up here, I love this school system and Im glad my son could go here as well but procedures that worked 20 years ago do not necessarily work now.
