Wyoming residents are far more likely to be caught hiking, fishing, or otherwise enjoying the great outdoors. The beautiful landscape makes nature-oriented hobbies super popular.
4. Everyone Is A Country Music Fan
Jazz and blues are popular genres in Wyoming, but really you’ll find that there are as many musical tastes as there are people. Just like… well, everywhere else in the world.
5. People From Wyoming Are A Bunch Of Uneducated Hillbillies
Wyoming’s high school graduation rate is at 80%, on par with the national average. Plus, the University of Wyoming is one of the most affordable state schools around, at just $4,600 for in-state students.
6. People From Wyoming Have A Southern Accent
Wait, what? This doesn’t even kind of make sense. Have you seen a map? While Wyoming residents may have a slight accent depending on the region they’re from, it’s definitely not southern.
7. It’s Just Meat And Potatoes All The Time

8. All Those Colorado Greenies Better Get Lost
Most people from Wyoming are over the whole Colorado rivalry thing. You’re not likely to get chased out of the state… even if your license plate is green.

You will see a lot of horses in Wyoming, but in the places you’d kind of expect them to be—on farms or at parades. Kids are pretty much riding the bus or driving to school, like they do everywhere else.
10. The Only Thing Worth Seeing Is Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is definitely worth the visit, but there are tons of cool places to see in Wyoming. The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum houses some amazing artifacts from the American West, and Grand Teton National Park is a fantastic hiking spot.
