When singer-songwriter Jewel met Portland, she made this awesome and goofy song about the City of Roses. She mentions Portland’s crown jewels—diversity, eco-friendliness, good beer, even World Naked Bike Ride Day (ha...watch out for the possibly-NSFW-but-harmless picture of that one at 1:19).
I’m going to go ahead and assume her mispronunciation of “Willamette” was on purpose for comic effect. I think we can both agree that she did right by Portlanders, and that this song is going to be stuck in your head all day.
