We are so thrilled to be part of St Mary school community. Having experience with most of the public schools on both sides of Elgin, I can confidently recommend St. Mary School. Our two children are thriving academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

After 7 years with St. Mary School our family continues to be thrilled with the solid curriculum and faith based education. Our teachers are second to none and truly give each student the attention they need to succeed.

We love St. Mary School. Truly a community of caring teachers and parents. My children are thriving academically and enjoy going to school every day. That makes this mom's heart very happy.

This school truly is dedicated to each individual child. The principal is fenamenal and cares for each and every child. The school is small but has great leadership and teaches values and morals which are also just as important as education. My child was pulled out of public school and put into St. Mary's, she improved tremendously at St. Mary's as she was falling behind in public school. I love how they get the kids involved in mass once a week. Love this school and everyone in it. It's like one big family

Excellent Catholic school, with a solid emphasis on the faith, including Mass and Confessions. Academics are souns and they are always looking for ways to improve.

I am not sure what school your child attended, but, if your 6th grader came out without even knowing long division, it wasn't St. Marys. My children constantly score well above average on all the IOWA tests they take. If you seriously believe that this school is in any maner behind ANY public school in the U-46 school district, you are seriously deluded. There is no Catholic school in any of the Elgin or surrounding areas academically behind any public school. You better check into actual statistics of standardized test scores.

I need to disagree with this parent's review of the principal. The new principal is Brilliant! She has really brought this school around this year and maybe the reason the teachers feel she treats them unfairly is that many of the teachers slack off. The children are doing the bare minimum of work and AGREE, they are behind the public schools academically. This new principal will force these teachers to step up and do the job they are paid for.

This school has a wonderful 2nd grade teacher, but I removed my kids after realizing that St. Mary is way behind the local school district in academics. My child came out of 6th grade just doing long division and my 3rd grader had never seen simple division. I spent the first quarter of this public school year catching my kids up where they were supposed to be academically. This school boasts higher test score which is false...the children are behind academically and no one seems to care.

St. Mary's has very good teachers for k,1st,2nd, and 4th. My son's 3rd grade teacher said he was doing fine but he wasn't come to find out he is 2 yrs behind in math. The new principal doesn't reach out to parents doesn't listen to you or answers any of your questions all you get is I'm aware of the problem but does nothing about it paying way to much money for kids to go there and have some teachers who shouldn't be teaching and a principal that doesn't seem to care they do have a few teachers that are very helpful and involved in the kids and their parents
