There is absolutely no matter place in Washington to see the stars than in Kalaloch at Third Beach. Locals know this is the spot to head to whenever there’s a meteor shower. The hike to the beach is not difficult and once you arrive you get to see just how beautiful the night sky can be without all of the light pollution! Hint: Go during the Perseid Meteor Shower in August. It’s mindblowing.

16. Or Camp Out At Steamboat Rock State Park

It may be quite far away from the rest of the world, but once get to Steamboat Rock State Park in Ephrata, you’ll be SO glad you came to this lakeside campground. There are tons of trails to explore and, once settled, you can lay back and enjoy the crisp, desert night air and the starry skies.

Tavern Law, voted one of the 25 best bars in America by GQ Magazine, has a secret upstairs speakeasy called “Needle and Thread.” It’s a tiny space that hardly anyone knows about, but the bartenders are incredibly talented. They’ll ask for your favorite liquor and then use it to make you THE best drink you’ve ever had in your life. Again, it’s tiny so try to get a reservation. 20. Who Needs Starry Skies When The Water Sparkles?

There are many, MANY reasons to visit the San Juan Islands. They’re among the most beautiful places in the world. But, at night, you can see one of the coolest natural phenomena in the waters surrounding the islands: bioluminescence. Essentially, when you paddle through the waters while it’s pitch black out, you disturb the plankton who then light up and turn the water into a shiny, neon blue. Companies like Discovery Bay Kayaks can take you out for three hour nighttime tours. It’s something you have to see to believe.
