Wet ‘n’ Wild is one of the largest water parks in Arizona, and it’s located right here in Phoenix! On a hot summer day, enjoy over 30 water slides and attractions. There’s also the famous “Maximum Velocity” ride which allows guests to race in tandem with tubes down two slide tracks (for the more adventurous teens and adults!!) But there are also plenty of attractions for younger kids, as well. There’s Went ‘n’ Wild Jr., which features a smaller water park designed for kids and their families to play with water toys and hang out in spray zones, as well as mini-water slides like “Tiny Typhoon”.
10. Everyone Will Go Wild For The Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo is one of the best zoos in the state. Families are able to get up close and personal with animals from all over the world. You can meet some Sumatran tigers, feed the giraffes, observe elephants at their watering holes, or check out the monkey village!

Sea Life Arizona is a wonderful place where you and your family can learn more about ocean life! You can interact with animals in touch pools, as well as get up close and personal with over 5,000 sea creatures, like sharks, rays, seahorses, and tropical fish.
And, perhaps the best part of the aquarium, is their 360-degree ocean tunnel that makes you feel as if you’re actually under the sea!
12. The Enchanted Island Amusement Park Is Just As Enchanting As The Name Suggests!
The Enchanted Island Amusement Park, or Encanto Park, in Phoenix was actually named as one of the Top 12 Best City Parks in America by Forbes. Encanto Park has nine rides and a variety of attractions and events specifically for children.
There’s the historic carousel, as well as bumper boats, a splash zone, pedal boats, and a mini-coaster. You can also check out the C.P. Huntington Train if you want a quick tour of the island!
13. Check Out The Unique Desert Botanical Garden
The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is not only gorgeous, but it’s incredibly unique. In fact, it has the world’s largest collection of desert plants. You can explore the gardens while checking out the 50,000 species of plants.
There are beautiful trails throughout the garden, like the desert wildflowers trail, the conservation trail, desert living trail, or the people and plants of the Sonoran Desert trail. Garden admission is FREE the second Tuesday of every month. And, on Thursdays and Saturdays through September, there are “Flashlight Tours” where families can visit the gardens by moonlight and watch the garden trails magically come alive!
14. It’s Not Everyday You Get To Explore A Butterfly Wonderland
Nearby to Phoenix, there’s a Butterfly Wonderland that is simply magnificent: you can check out this beautiful rainforest environment where butterflies from all over the world fly free above you.
You can learn about butterflies migration cycles, metamorphosis, and so much more while also interacting directly with the gorgeous, unique butterflies! The Butterfly Wonderland also offers a mirror maze and laser maze that are always a thrill.
15. Schnepf Farms Has The Best Peaches In Arizona
Just 45 minutes outside of the city is Schnepf farms. There are always delicious peaches, strawberries, and other fruits at the Schnepf Farms orchards and gardens. The whole family will enjoy exploring the farm, picking some peaches, or even grabbing a delicious homemade treat at the Country Store and Bakery.
There are often special events featuring live music and hayrides, and the first Saturday of every month, kids can participate in “Farmer of the Day” where they learn to irrigate, plant seeds, and pick vegetables!
