George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science, commonly known as Carver High School, is one of the highest ranking schools in the Philadelphia School District. The school earned a silver medal in 2015 from “U.S. News and World Report” for being one of the best high schools with an academic score of 90.6, just .2 points lower than the best high school in Philadelphia. The school boasts a 100% graduation rate, and an incredible 100% college admissions rate. The academic curriculum is very challenging for all students, but advanced students can earn college credits by taking any of the 15 AP courses available. Qualified students may also take part in Carver’s BioMed Program or its Pennsylvania Certified Pre-Engineering CTE Program. Carver High School offers much more than superior academics. Students can play on one of the 18 varsity or junior varsity sports teams or take part in the 26 extracurricular activities and clubs.
