Featuring a parade, ceremony, and an action packed festival, MayDay is built around huge handmade puppets, masks, music, and street performances. Attending this is a great way to get out and support the local culture of Minneapolis on an annual basis.

A party that’s built around everything that makes this city so awesome, the Minneapolis Aquatennial is a 10-day festival that truly blows other city fairs around the country out of the water. 9. Can’t Hack That Black Diamond Ski Run? No Problem

If you’re into cross-country skiing, you probably already know about the City of Lakes Loppet event. If you’re not into the sport, one trip to the sidelines of this event will have you claiming you’re a fan. A 35 km cross-country ski race through beautiful urban sections of the Twin Cities, this is one race that you won’t find anywhere else.
