Bal Harbour FL is found on the northern tip of a barrier island, just off the coast from Miami. Also on this barrier island is Miami Beach and South Beach, offering a wide array of things to do. This particular area is known for being more private, and the homes can be quite luxurious.

Many people that live in this neighborhood are able to walk to where they want to go. Since Bal Harbour is less than a mile in distance across, people find it easy to where they want to go. However, since Bal Harbour is on a barrier island, some people who are involved in professional and health industries may have to travel off the island and commute times can be as much as an hour, when traveling to such areas as Aventura and North Miami.
Various hospitals are found in the area, making it easy to receive healthcare. This includes Mount Sinai Medical Center, which is seen as one of the best in the country, with doctors who are on the forefront of research and technology.
There is also less crime here than on the state average. There have been no violent crimes in recent years, with the majority of crimes being larceny/theft. Crime has dropped drastically since 2013.
Bal Harbour is best known for its luxurious homes. Found on the northern tip of the barrier island, people choose to live here because of the gorgeous high rises – many of which are $5 million and higher. While there are HOA fees to pay monthly, it provides access to a wide array of amenities, including gyms, spas, 24 hour valet, and much more.
The entire area is walkable, making it possible to not only walk throughout Bal Harbour, but also the rest of Miami Beach. Some people choose to walk or bike all the way from one end of the barrier island to the other, which allows one to access South Beach and all the area has to offer.
Bal Harbour is also known for being very private. The beach within this neighborhood is completely private, which means the only way to get into the beach is by being a resident or being a traveler through one of the hotels. Many people want to get into this area, however, due to the wide layout as well as the calm surf.
