School Overview: Kingwood High School
Kingwood High School is part of the Humble Independent School District. This public high school first opened during 1979. Since then, it has undergone multiple renovations. The school currently serves over 2,700 students in grades 9 through 12. This school was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 1984. Kingwood High School Houston has also won the Lone Star Cup on five occasions.
Kingwood High School offers Advanced Placement courses that allow students to earn college credit while in high school. AP courses are available in the subject areas of social studies and English. Students at Kingwood High School may also enroll in dual credit courses through Lone Star College.
Students at Kingwood High School can participate in many different extracurricular activities. Some of these activities include speech and debate, Spanish club, French Club, psychology club, theatre, band, choir and criminal justice club.
The athletic program at Kingwood High School offers wrestling, volleyball, track, cheerleading, tennis, swimming, softball, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, gymnastics, golf, football, dance, cross country, basketball and baseball.
