School Overview: Skyline High School

Envisioned as a "cluster school" offering a wide variety of options for students, Skyline offers "mix and match" opportunities to take traditional academic classes and pursue special interests or a career path at the same time. The Career Development Center offers 19 different programs such as advanced science or math, photography, aeronautics, hospitality and tourism, child care, eco-tech, culinary arts, and world languages. Skyline teaches classes in Latin, French, German, Spanish and Russian. Since its opening, some of the original course offerings have spawned other magnet schools, including a performing arts cluster and health careers specializations. Students at Skyline High School are required to wear uniforms, and the school operates under a strict closed campus policy, meaning that students are not free to leave campus during school hours. Numerous clubs, special interest groups, and honorary societies exist at the school, including drama and dance groups and National Honor Society. A full menu of athletic programs includes wrestling and swim competition in addition to traditional team sports for both boys and girls.

What Parents Are Saying

"I love this school and so does my son, they really push the students and keep the parents well informed. I love it, also excellent staff. I'm a proud parent of a new freshman in the magnet program." "This school was a great second home to grow up and see life." "I am a former student (class of 04') of Skyline High School. I enjoyed my high school years in this school and have very fond memories of them. . . Skyline was not my homeschool, and my siblings and I all had to apply to get in. I was the 4th in my family to graduate from Skyline. The baby of the family graduates 08'! What does that tell you?”
