Franklinton: Its People and History

Residents of this neighborhood are mostly working class. Franklinton had a median household income of $25,792 as of 2013, compared to more than $44,000 for Columbus at large. About 10 percent of residents have a college degree or higher, compared to almost 40 percent throughout Columbus, and just over 50 percent of residents didn't finish high school. Its founders established the neighborhood in the late 19th century, but developers didn't add much to the area in the 20th century because of a pattern of severe floods.
