Devon Still was cut from the Cincinnati Bengals in August before the season began. This blow came two months after Still’s four-year-old daughter was diagnosed Neuroblastoma stage 4 cancer--the reason he couldn’t get his head in the game. This also meant that his family was without health insurance to cover her treatment.
The day after Still was cut, however, something incredible happened. The Bengals re-signed him to their practice squad, giving him the ability to be with his little girl and pay for medical expenses. Since then, his team has done even more to support Still, and he was moved to active status September 10.
This video shows Still and his daughter’s incredibly moving journey, and how Bengal fans in Cincinnati and around the country have given them a second chance in more ways than one.
