Family Oriented and High Safety Rating

According to Safewise, Duluth is one of the safest cities of 2016. This year, the city came in at number 20 on the list, which is higher than it has ranked in years past. This ranking came from the following stats: there were only .94 violent crimes per 1,000 people and only 20.29 property crimes per 1,000 people. Additionally, the city was ranked a Top Ten City for Best American Values by Newsmax Magazine and a Best Affordable Suburb in Georgia by BusinessWeek Magazine. This is a place where businesses and families thrive. It is a safe environment to raise a family, and there are many amenities that are age appropriate for the entire community.

Duluth has some highly rated schools for elementary through high school students. All of the schools have a score of 10 through GreatSchools.org. There is even a charter school and some private schools to choose from. After high school, there are some local trade schools in the suburb as well as some colleges, such as Georgia Gwinnett College, not too far away. There is a designated Duluth Public Arts Commission (DPAC) for the city to promote performing arts, maintain the public art collection held by the city, and to acquire, commission, and showcase new art.

This is to share the plan with the entire city of what art means currently and what they plan to do about extending it into the future of the city. The ultimate goal of the city is to inspire residents, establish a new culture, and encourage even more celebration of Duluth. The city is focused on providing ways for residents to focus on fitness and healthy lifestyles. In fact, there are sidewalks and bikeways that connect all areas of the city so residents can easily get from one place or another without use of a car if they want. This provides a lot of space for people to get their exercise in while enjoying all that the city has to offer. For people who want to focus on healthy living but still have a hand in growing their food, Duluth has a community garden. There are also several farmers markets throughout the city for residents to enjoy on a weekly basis. One of these is the Nam Dae Mun Farmers Market which features produce as well as international foods. Another popular one is the Gwinnett International Farmers Market.
