Notes and gifts are appreciated, although sending large tips or expensive gifts may be a violation. The best way to thank an agent is to talk about them. Agents rely on referrals for business. If you had a great experience with your agent, be sure to say thank you by spreading the word on how wonderful they are.

How to thank your agent:

  • A “thank you” note or small gift, like a bottle of wine, gift basket, or gift card.
  • A note to their managing broker about what a great job they did.
  • Share their information with others who are looking to buy in your area.
  • Write a positive review on their online agent profile page.
  • Write positive reviews on their social media pages.
  • Share a post about them on your social media pages.

Usually, your agent will be thanking you. Your business and your successful close are reward enough for their hard work. And a great agent will keep in touch and be happy to answer any questions you have throughout your homeownership journey and advise you when you’re ready to sell.
