Originally built in 1814 and now a National Historic Landmark, this stately home was once The Steward’s House, the central building of the Foreign Mission School located in Cornwall Village from 1817 to 1826. The first of its kind in the United States, this small institution had a short, yet highly eventful history linking the small town of Cornwall to important issues of the day - perhaps most notably the settlement of Hawaii.
