You\u2019ll want to be fully packed when you move, and you won\u2019t be able to unpack immediately, so you\u2019ll be living out of this suitcase for a few days.<\/li>\n<li><b>Divide and conquer &#8211;<\/b> Break your packing duties down by room, and start packing in sections. Tackling your home in sections will make the process much more manageable. Group boxes with similar items where possible.<\/li>\n<li><b>Heavy to light &#8211;<\/b> Pack boxes with heavy items on the bottom and lighter objects on top.<\/li>\n<li><b>Roll clothes and towels &#8211;<\/b> Pro packing tip: You can fit more if you roll. Roll soft items before putting them in boxes and suitcases.<\/li>\n<li><b>Label &#8211;<\/b> Label everything. Be detailed.\n<ul>\n<li>Name of items<\/li>\n<li>Name of room<\/li>\n<li>Special instructions: fragile, heavy, this side up, do not get wet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t leave wiggle room &#8211;<\/b> Things are less likely to break if they can\u2019t move around. Stuff empty spaces in boxes with old T-shirts or newspaper.<\/li>\n<li><b>Leave tools and cleaning products in an accessible place &#8211;<\/b> Pack all tools and cleaning products\u2014screwdrivers, nails, screws, drills, paper towels, cleaning sprays, mops\u2014in an easy to find box and set them aside. Make sure when they are unloaded, they don\u2019t end up under a pile of other boxes.
