A favorite when it comes to local dishes, everyone that\u2019s making burgoo has their own unique recipe. Kentuckians know that it\u2019s best to just enjoy them all instead of trying to compare and contrast the different varieties.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a reason that the word \u201cKentucky\u201d tends to get thrown in front of \u201cfried chicken\u201d a lot. Kentucky has the best deep fried food in America, including the fried chicken. Every Kentuckian has their own favorite local place to get it and none of them are wrong.<\/p>\n

While the streets around Kentuckian could be more cordial if everyone was willing to just love all of the Kentuckian teams, there will always be a battle brewing between Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals fans.<\/p>\n

This might seem surprisingly, but a lot of the crowd at the Kentucky Derby is actually made up of tourists. Most locals would rather avoid the massive crowds and go to the Kentucky Oaks the Friday before the big race instead.<\/p>\n

One of the states where wild turkeys actually roam the countryside, these birds often come with a very aggressive attitude. It\u2019s not like all Kentuckians are out fighting turkeys every day, but wild turkeys are something that everyone around here, especially in rural areas, tends to treat with a healthy level respect.<\/p>\n

A popular protein in this state, most Americans probably don\u2019t even know what animal mutton comes from. Its meat from an adult sheep and it\u2019s delicious when barbecued. Expect visitors to be a bit tentative when a plate of this gets put in front of them\u2014until they take the first bite.<\/p>\n

Full of rings and twangs, bluegrass music provides the heartbeat for a perfect sun-filled summer outdoors in this state. While all Kentuckians aren\u2019t driving around blasting this music through their speakers, it\u2019s hard not to feel the good vibes when a live bluegrass band takes the stage at an outdoor show.<\/p>\n

Known for being a soft grass that\u2019s great for lawns in parks and gardens, Kentucky bluegrass isn\u2019t actually blue. It\u2019s known by this name for the flowers that start popping up when this grass reaches its natural height of a couple feet. Most Kentucky bluegrass tends to get trimmed up well before reaching that point.<\/p>\n

With the exception of Louisville, traffic in Kentucky isn\u2019t really that bad. The only thing that really slows you down significantly here is getting caught behind a tractor in a rural area.<\/p>\n
