These Are The 10 Biggest Governor\u2019s Mansions In America<\/a> By Movoto Real Estate<\/textarea><br \/>\nHow was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.movoto.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Movoto Real Estate<\/a> Blog able to narrow down a list of the top 10 governors\u2019 homes in the country? Well, for crying out loud, this is America, so we decided to do it the American way.<br \/>\nWe like football and big trucks and loud fireworks and giant fast-food soft drinks we can\u2019t finish. Since as of posting time not a single governor returned our calls to skirmish NFL style, we decided to look at which houses are the coolest\u2014i.e., the biggest\u2014because, well, America.<br \/>\nWe looked at governors\u2019 mansions in 44 states (some states no longer have one, so they were immediately declared lame and tossed out of the running) and compared their total square footage.<br \/>\nNow you can call up your friend in another state and say \u201cHa! My Governor\u2019s mansion is bigger than yours!\u201d You\u2019ll be glad you did.<br \/>\nHere\u2019s which states (and behemoth homes) came out on top.<\/p>\n<h2>1. The mansion hasn\u2019t been the governor of Illinois main home for several years, but it\u2019s still used occasionally.<br \/>\nNot only is this house the largest on the list, but it\u2019s a good 20,00 square feet bigger than number two.
