It\u2019s just as pervasive throughout town as the fans are when there\u2019s a home game.<br \/>\nHusker football is also known for its emphasis on Nebraska roots, any old kid off the farm with a good arm can try out for the team, and in the \u201980s and \u201990s, it seemed like every Nebraskan was a secret football star.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Lincolnians Want You To Know That Their City Is Way More Than Corn<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/citybuzz\/2014\/09\/lincoln-understand\/lincoln-understand-8.jpg\" alt=\"10 Things Only People From Lincoln Will Understand\" style=\"width:600px\" \/><br \/>\nThe stereotype from the two coasts is that Nebraska is all corn, but that\u2019s just not true. Lincoln is also home to gorgeous prairies, with big blue sky views for miles. The Prairie Preserve, the cranes landing in the Sandhills and the miles upon miles of easy bike trails make communing with Midwest nature irresistible to folks here.<\/p>\n<h2>3. It\u2019s universally agreed that everyone is friendly, and everyone is really focused on creating a great community for the young ones (we\u2019ll get into a little more detail shortly). The original frontiersman who decided not to go all the way to Oregon were the toughest of the lot, being able to handle Nebraska\u2019s fierce <em>every<\/em>-season.<\/p>\n<h2>5. The Haymarket Farmer\u2019s Market is the best way to kickstart an awesome weekend. Oh, you\u2019re very welcome.<\/p>\n<h2>6. It\u2019s the biggest by far and has the widest variety of programs to offer young minds looking for an affordable, top tier education. Consistently ranked among the best on US News &amp; World Report, UNL is a huge source of pride for the city.<br \/>\nBrowser not compatible.<\/p>\n<h2>7. You have the Kansas City farm team, the stellar Saltdogs, and the UNL basketball team made it to the NCAA tournament last year. So yeah, Lincolnians spread the sports love all around.<\/p>\n<h2>8. The Lincoln Zoo is held in higher esteem than ones in say, San Diego. And if even if you\u2019re tired of these recommended mainstays, there\u2019s a park around the corner from anywhere where you and yours can while away another day in Lincoln.<\/p>\n<h2>10.
