Unfortunately many of the state\u2019s larger cities are known for having crime problems, but what are the smaller towns and cities like? Let\u2019s find out what the top 10 safest cities in Tennessee are.<\/p>\n

Eagleville<\/h2>\n

\nIf you want to live in the safest city in Tennessee choose Eagleville<\/a>. It\u2019s a city in Rutherford County that\u2019s home to only around 600 people. The crime index is 99 \u2013 100 being the safest \u2013 and Eagleville is only 37 miles south of Nashville.<\/p>\n

Bethel Springs<\/h2>\n

\nNamed for the Presbyterian church that was founded nearby, the town of Bethel Springs is in McNairy County in the south west of Tennessee. Bethel Springs<\/a> has a crime index of 98, and is the second safest place to live in Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Cornersville<\/h2>\n

Set in Marshall County, close to the point where the old county lines of Giles, Maury, Bedford and Lincoln Counties met (hence the name), Cornersville<\/a> is a small town with a population around 1,200 people. This is the third safest place to call home in Tennessee, and has a crime index of 97.<\/p>\n

Minor Hill<\/h2>\n

\n\u201cA friendly place to visit \u2013 A great place to live\u201d \u2013 that\u2019s the motto of Minor Hill<\/a>, and with a crime index of 97 this tiny city is definitely a safe place to live! Minor Hill is right in the south of Tennessee, in Giles County, and has a population around 540 people.<\/p>\n

Elkton<\/h2>\n

\nJust a short distance from Minor Hill is the next city on our list. Elkton is ranked the fifth safest city in Tennessee, and has a crime index of 95. It\u2019s another small city, home to only around 580 people, and has a large chicken sculpture!<\/p>\n

\nSet in Benton County in the north of Tennessee is the small town of Big Sandy. Big Sandy<\/a> is at the southern end of Kentucky Lake so it\u2019s a nice scenic place to live, as well as being the sixth safest town in Tennessee. The crime index is 94.<\/p>\n

Clifton<\/h2>\n

\nClifton<\/a> is a city in Wayne County, set on the south bank of the Tennessee River, roughly half way between Memphis and Nashville. Clifton is the seventh safest city in Tennessee, and has a crime index of 93. Around 2,700 people live here.<\/p>\n
