The Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers both call Arlington home, and the city has a good selection of parks, shopping centers, restaurants, and recreation too.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Six Flags Over Texas<\/h2>\n<p>Opened in 1961 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/overTexas\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Six Flags Over Texas<\/a> was the first park of the Six Flags theme park chain and it\u2019s open March through January, so almost all year round. As well as being a big attraction for the residents of Arlington, Six Flags attracts thousands of visitors from Texas, the rest of the country, and even from around the world who come to ride the fifty or so rides. Of these there are twelve roller coasters and five water rides and all the rides are spread throughout the park\u2019s different lands which include Mexico and Spain, Texas, Old South and France, USA, Looney Tunes USA, Goodtime Square, Gotham City, Boomtown, and Tower. There are many thrilling rides as well as an abundance of places to eat, many of which are themed according to the lands they\u2019re in.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Restaurants in Arlington<\/h2>\n<p>Six Flags Over Texas has just about the largest concentration of restaurants in the city, but there are still many to find outside of the theme park too \u2013 over 360 of them in fact according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tripadvisor.com\/Restaurants-g30183-Arlington_Texas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TripAdvisor<\/a>! There\u2019s a good selection of cuisine types served in Arlington, not just the typical southwestern you might expect. The top rated restaurant actually specializes in Turkish cuisine; it\u2019s called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.istanbulgrilltx.com\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Istanbul Grill<\/a>, and is the only Turkish restaurant in the Fort Worth Arlington area. The second most popular restaurant, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abuelos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abuelo\u2019s Mexican Food Embassy<\/a>, serves Mexican foods, and also in the top ten is a seafood restaurant, a steak restaurant, barbecue, and American.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Attractions in Arlington<\/h2>\n<p>As well as the Six Flags theme park there\u2019s also the water park, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor which has a separate admission fee to the main theme park. It has many water slides as well as rapids, lagoons, and children\u2019s areas.<br \/>\nAway from the theme parks though, Arlington also has a museum: the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bowlingmuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Bowling Museum<\/a> which includes the International Bowling Hall of Fame that would be an interesting visit if you\u2019re a big fan of bowling.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Sports in Arlington<\/h2>\n<p>Although they\u2019re called the Dallas Cowboys this world-famous American Football team actually plays here in Arlington as the <a href=\"http:\/\/stadium.dallascowboys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cowboys Stadium<\/a>. This vast stadium with retractable roof was opened in 2009 and if you\u2019re able to catch a game it\u2019s quite the atmosphere! If you\u2019re not able to catch a game you can still enjoy a stadium tour, either self-guided or guided.<br \/>\nThe Texas rangers are the other big sports team in Arlington, playing at <a href=\"http:\/\/texas.rangers.mlb.com\/tex\/ballpark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rangers Ballpark<\/a>.
