And if you enjoy trying different cuisines you\u2019ll love eating out in the city \u2013 there\u2019s a very eclectic mix of cuisines available here from classic American to Indian, and everything in between. Sacramento is proud of the fact that many restaurants get their food directly from the local farms and the city started a marketing campaign as \u201cAmerica\u2019s Farm-to-Fork Capital\u201d because of this.<br \/>\nThe top rated restaurant in the city, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tripadvisor.com\/Restaurants-g32999-Sacramento_California.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TripAdvisor<\/a>, is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitchenrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Kitchen<\/a>, where a Contemporary American menu is served.  Other restaurants within the top 10 include a Mexican, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nopalitoscafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nopalitos<\/a>, and a Japanese sushi bar named Mikuni.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Attractions in Sacramento<\/h2>\n<p>When John Sutter built Sutter\u2019s Fort in the 1840s he probably didn\u2019t expect that the town would grow to become a state capital, but Sutter was responsible for the town being where it was, in the heart of an agricultural valley. If you\u2019re interested in early Californian history <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks.ca.gov\/?page_id=485\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sutter\u2019s Fort<\/a> is definitely worth visiting. It\u2019s been preserved as a State Historic Park and it\u2019s centrally located in the Midtown neighborhood, so it\u2019s easy to get to.<br \/>\nYou can also check out some of Sacramento\u2019s early history in Old Sacramento. This living historic district has a number of buildings preserved from the 1850 and 60s and it\u2019s set on the riverfront. It\u2019s a popular attraction with locals and tourists and you can enjoy rides on steam powered trains and boats from here, so kids will like it too!<br \/>\nTwo of the city\u2019s popular museums are located within Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum, and the Sacramento History Museum, while elsewhere in the city is the State Indian Museum, and the Crocker Art Museum.<br \/>\nThere are parts of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/California_State_Capitol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">California State Capitol<\/a> that could be considered a museum too, so be sure to take a free guided tour of the building for a chance to see the restored historic offices, legislative chambers, and more in this impressive historic capitol that was based on the US Capitol in Washington.<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<h2>Parks and Recreation in Sacramento<\/h2>\n<p>Sacramento has many smaller parks within the city center while out towards the suburbs larger urban parks can be found. Discovery Park is close to the city and set on the banks of the American River where it meets the Sacramento River. The park covers about 300 acres, and it has trails, a picnic area, and sports facilities.
