The area has a warm, aesthetic appeal with a variety of housing. The area is much more than just the convenience of walking to the grocery store, or the neighborhood eateries. The Houston Museum District contains more than 15 different museums and galleries. Other attractions include the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmhouston.org\/\">Children\u2019s Museum of Houston<\/a> and the Houston Zoo. Grocery stores, entertainment venues, movies houses, independent retailers and mainstream are found in the West Gray \/ River Oaks shopping areas.<br \/>\nPupils in Neartown \u2013 Montrose area are zoned to Houston Independent School District schools. Private schools include The Harris School, and the Annunciation orthodox School.<\/p>\n<h2>Greenway \/ Upper Kirby<\/h2>\n<p>Single family homes are a little scarce in the Greenway \/ Upper Kirby area but the number of townhomes, high rises, lofts, and apartment buildings make up for them. Reaching area attractions is convenient, as the neighborhood is ranked as the 2nd most walkable neighborhood in Houston, and features many conveniences within footsteps. The Greenway \/ Upper Kirby area residents enjoy the Levy Park, which is operated by the City of Houston, historic structures, such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houstondeco.org\/1930s\/alabama.html\">Alabama Theatre<\/a>, which has been renovated into a Bookstop bookstore, and many restaurants, including chain restaurants and outstanding independent restaurants. Shopping is also just within steps.<br \/>\nStudents in Greenway \/ Upper Kirby area are zoned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.movoto.com\/public-schools\/tx\/unified\/4823640-houston-independent-school-district.htm\">Houston Independent School District schools<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Midtown<\/h2>\n<p>Midtown, Houston is a wonderful pedestrian-friendly neighborhood and one of Houston\u2019s most culturally diverse areas. Midtown is a mixed-use district. It is the pulse of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.movoto.com\/blog\/opinions\/moving-to-houston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston<\/a> and a hot spot for employment, and an area where residents enjoy a number of outlets, including bars, restaurants, and retail operations. At one time there were over a dozen flower shops in the area. Midtown is Houston\u2019s central entertaining area, and features a number of amenities that add to the attractiveness of the neighborhood, as well. Because the Houston Medical Center is located in Binz, the area includes a diverse group of residents, including college students, professors, and physicians. The area is among the most walkable neighborhoods in Houston, and features a number of amenities that make for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of a busy avenue.
