The Wellington area offers numerous opportunities for you to enjoy all the Village has to offer: aquatic classes, Roller Hockey, Art exhibits, tennis, and so much more. But what about your four-legged friend? Located just a five minute drive from the Village, the Wellington Dog Park is the perfect place to take your dog for fun and relaxation.

With fenced in areas for small, medium, and large pets, your dog can romp with freedom among playmates she is comfortable around. Plus, there are several shaded seating areas which come in handy on those hot summer days. If you have a small dog, the gazebo there has a hose and bowl for puppies and where you can sit back and watch them have the time of their life. In case you forgot some at home or in the car, “dog poo” bags are provided. This is a great park and always well-maintained. Be aware that weekends can be quite crowded in particular when special events are happening.

Howard Park

Howard is one of the most accessible parks in the area as it is located just a few minutes from 1-95. If you are traveling, this park is right both for you and your traveling companion. One of the greatest features of the park is its abundance of shade trees that everyone appreciates. It is well-maintained with fresh water and lots of shaded seating. Be aware that Howard is an off-leash park so make sure your pet is socialized and used to interaction with others. There are fenced in areas for large and small dogs. There are a number of great dog-friendly restaurants within  with outdoor seating which the both of you can enjoy.

Pooch Pines Dog Park

Like Wellington Dog Park, Pooch Pines is located right in the center of many recreational opportunities. Discover everything from the 111-acre, world-class equestrian showplace to quiet freshwater fishing. But best of all for your furry friends, Pooch Pines offers a great place for them to play as well.

The park has three fenced-in areas, two for large dogs and one for those that weigh less than 30 lbs. There are big, open areas with plenty of grass allowing for off-leash fun. Water stations, a wash area, gazebos, and large shady trees make for a pleasant experience. Multiple poop bag stations ensure each area is free of flies and a good experience for all. Pooch Pines is fenced in with big open spaces, benches, gazebo, water stations, and a wash area.

Lilac Dog Park

If you are looking for a quiet, well shaded and secure dog park then you have to look no further than Lilac Dog Park. The park features a large grassy area that is sodded every year and no sand to have to worry about cleaning up after you and your pet return home. Lilac Park affords a gazebo, park benches, shade trees, and a small pen where your pet can take a break while you enjoy the rest.

One of the nicest features of the park is the many ways pets can get their much-needed exercise. Dog activity stations provide obstacle courses, hoops, and even a tunnel passing beneath a path. A secure fence and well-placed agility run ensures this is a park your dog will be glad to see the next time you visit.

Juno Beach Park

If there is one thing West Palm Beach has, it is plenty of sparkling sand along brilliant blue water. Unlike most places in the area, there is an abundance of free parking within a few feet of the beach. In season, even when you can’t find a parking place along the beach road, there is a nearby parking lot that also has no charge. Look for A1A near the pier – the doggie bags there let you know that area is dog-friendly. Dogs must be on leashes!

Lifeguards on Juno Beach are well-trained, very friendly, and vigilant as to what is going on. Be sure and keep your pet at least 50 feet away from the pier as it is a fishing pier and you don’t want you or your dog to encounter any wayward sharks.  This is an excellent dog beach with showers, fresh water, and public restrooms at the entrances. Be sure and bring a beach umbrella as there is no other protection from the sun which can be brutally hot. In case you forget your sunscreen there is a shopping center within walking distance.

Village Paws

Village Paws is located directly across the street from the entrance to the Saratoga Bay community. It offers three off-leash dog areas, each with a covered area for your to get out of the sun and relax while your pets have fun. There is no agility equipment, though, you can bring your own or simply let your dog enjoy the run-through tunnel and socialize in the broad, grassy area to his heart’s content.

Since this park was originally designed for local residents, there are no public restrooms. Parking is free, though, it is about a hundred yard walk or so from the lot to the dog park. Humans will need to bring their own water, since the only water fountains for visitors of the four-legged variety.

2 Point Highlight

Because the Howard Dog Park is within walking distance of City Place you can also take your canine friend for a special treat after his workout. There are a number of great dog-friendly restaurants with outdoor seating which the both of you can enjoy.

The beach is beautiful and most importantly, clean. Lifeguards on Juno Beach are well trained, very friendly, and vigilant as to what is going on.
