Huntington Dog Beach is one of those rare finds where dogs may run off-leash, play around on the sand and splash about in the Pacific Ocean. You might find seasoned beach dogs even climbing on surfboards for rides or playing Frisbee on the sand. It’s also a great place to teach your dog to swim. Not all dogs immediately take to water and the gentle surf near the sand is the perfect introduction. Keep an eye on your pooch so he doesn’t get out too far. Dogs must be well behaved and respond to their owners when called. Poop bags and disposal bins are available. Two pay-as-you-go parking lots are available between Seapoint and Goldenwest Streets. The machines take Visa and MasterCard as well as paper money and coins.
