Opened in Spring 2011, the Dog Park at West Kendall District Park became the fifth regional dog park in the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation system. While the entire park is pup-friendly, 6.5 fenced-in acres of pristine, grassy fields is devoted strictly for doggie playtime. Designated small and large dog areas allow off-leash play for dogs and peace of mind for owners. Dog walk ramps, window jumps, tires, and play equipment provide a platform for dogs to show off their moves while ample bench seating shelters pooped owners. Pooper scooper stations make clean up a breeze to keep this Miami dog park looking beautiful.

While the canines are allowed to mix and mingle with their friends off-leash, the entire park is dog-friendly, and encourages owners to explore the park in its entirety with their furry friend. The 515-acre Amelia Earhart Park is actually a decades-old undeveloped Naval Air Station on the east side of Hialeah. In fact, the airstrip just across the road is where Amelia Earhart embarked on her final ill-fated attempt to circumnavigate the world in 1937 – hence the park's namesake. Fast forward to today and this Miami urban greenspace offers miles of on-leash dog-friendly trails for biking, running, fishing, and other recreational activities. Additionally, the park's five lakes keep pups cool during hot summer months.
Five-acres of park land has been dedicated to the Bark Park, as a place for pups to run around off-leash in a safe environment. Separate areas for small and large dogs include size-appropriate exercise equipment, tables and agility equipment. For dogs looking for a more relaxed experience, benches, shade and gardens create a lush environment to take a nap and dream the day away. Doggie/human drinking fountains, picnic tables, poop bag dispensers, and trash cans keep the park clean and comfortable for all.
