1. Piedmont Park Dog Park
490-514 Park Dr NE
Atlanta, GA 30309
Website
Yelp: 3.5 Stars, 70 Reviews
The Piedmont Park Dog Park is by far the favorite in the area by may pet owners although it may not look like it from the Yelp reviews. This park is the one that is most often visited by dogs and their owners. It is a large space, almost three acres dedicated exclusively to dogs and their owners, and it is an off-leash park. It is the ideal place for people to bring their pets to run and play until they absolutely cannot anymore. One of the great things about the area is that there are separate areas for both small dogs as well as large dogs. This way, you do not need to worry about the dogs getting pushed around or running over any other dogs that are not their size. One of the bad things about the area is that there is minimal shade there. This can mean intense heat in the middle of the summer that can take a toll on both the dogs and the owners. If you want to go to this park, be sure to bring plenty of water for both yourself and any dogs along for the ride!
2. South Bend Dog Park
Lakewood Ave.
Atlanta, GA 30315

Not currently on Yelp.
The South Bend Dog Park is located close to Aaron’s Amphitheater, a popular concert venue in the Lakewood Heights area. This dog park is great because it offers a lot of shade to both the owners and the dogs. While the dogs are playing, the owners can easily go to the hilltop view location to see a fantastic view of the area. There is even a tree swing to enjoy. There are separate areas for both small dogs and large dogs so all owners can rest assured that their favorite pups are paying with dogs around their own size.
3. Oakhurst Dog Park
450 E. Lake Dr.
Atlanta, GA 30307
Website
Yelp: 4 Stars, 30 Reviews
The Oakhurst Dog Park is popular for many reasons. It is a clean area for dogs to play and the area offers drinking water to the dogs. This makes it convenient for the owners so that they do not have to worry about bringing their own water for the dogs to the park. There are also many nice benches for owners to sit on while their dogs play. There are many friendly people in the Oakhurst Dog Park and if you want to take your dog on a walk, a variety of wooded trails to explore. This is something that both the dogs and their owners can enjoy together. After a rain, however, you may want to stay away from this park because it gets muddy. One drawback about this park is that all dogs share the same space no matter their size.
4. Railside Dog Park
Castleberry Hill
Atlanta, GA 30313
Website
Yelp: 3 Stars, 6 Reviews
The Railside Dog Park may be a bit different than some of the other parks in the area. It is not a fancy park by any means, but there is an intense sense of community in the area. It is a two acre off leash dog park and there is fresh water offered to the dogs. The water is retrieved by using a roof from a nearby building. It is diverted to a water containment area for the dogs. The benches in the park were donated by a local gallery so they are one of a kind. The fencing was also designed by local artists. This dog park is very unique, but there is beauty all around for both dogs and owners to enjoy.
5. Parkgrounds
142 Flat Shoals Ave. SE
Atlanta, GA 30316
(678) 528-9901
Website
Yelp: 4 Stars, 177 Reviews
Searching for a dog park and a coffee shop? Look no further than Parkgrounds. The clever name is a play off of both functions of this area. It is a place where owners can eat, drink some delicious coffee, or even work while using the free Wi-Fi. All of this can be done while their dog(s) enjoy the park and get all of their exercise in while getting their energy out.
